I keep seeing these super non-stick frying pans advertized on TV. Some say they are coated in diamonds or ceramic or copper and guarantee nothing will stay in the pan. Who has tried them and do you recommend them?

s'mores i think.Did they cook a pan of marshmallows in the oven? Is that a thing?
Seasoned cast iron is the only way to go for a frying pan.
No, but I don't consider cooking an omelette as frying either really. I'm probably wrong. You cook omelettes on a cast iron skillet?

I just changed my mind. .Saved about 20 bucks. Found some reviews of the thing. Apparently everything in the ad is total bullshit.
I bought an orgreenic from Rite Aid, and was trying to cook an egg in it, and it wouldn't even stay in the pan to cook! it just jumped out onto the stovetop yoke and all...I keep seeing these super non-stick frying pans advertized on TV. That's an amusing mental image.I bought an orgreenic from Rite Aid, and was trying to cook an egg in it, and it wouldn't even stay in the pan to cook! it just jumped out onto the stovetop yoke and all...
I honestly couldn't tell you what kind of pans we got for a wedding gift about 6 years ago but whatever they are I'm pretty happy with them.
Wow, this is really helpful. Six of them you say?

No they where bought 6 years ago. I'm pretty sure they where store bought though.
Over the years I've bought probably 20 things "as seen on TV" and maybe three of them were mistakes. We're still using several things we bought from infomercials 40 years ago.wow, an "as seen on TV" item that doesn't work??
i'm shocked!
Just curious what are your top 3 "as seen on TV" product purchases are?Over the years I've bought probably 20 things "as seen on TV" and maybe three of them were mistakes. We're still using several things we bought from infomercials 40 years ago.

It's like they were in my kitchen!! Clearly Slimer is behind the Orgreenic...
Cast iron is almost always the way to go, I have several of them and they are beautifully seasoned.......but.....don't tell anyone......I have a cheap 'ol T-fal pan that I use a lot when I want super non-stick......it is idiot proof as can be has copper deals that distribute heat very well and super easy clean up.
The absolute best for all-purpose cooking is enameled cast iron, specifically Le Creuset cookware. Easier to clean in most cases than Teflon. Lasts freaking forever. There's a reason that every high-class cooking show uses it.....and since they don't identify it or sell it, the reason isn't that they're getting paid to do it.Cast iron is absolutely the best. You can also use stainless steel cookware and season it, but it takes a bit more skill to minimize sticking for eggs and things. But it's what all the professional chefs use.
The two best are a wok and a mandoline; after that, maybe a hamburger press.Just curious what are your top 3 "as seen on TV" product purchases are?
I don't think I have actually ordered anything off of a commercial, but I have bought a few items at B,B&B. (I'm sure it was a nice little Saturday) But I don't think anything that I got was worth it. My parent's bought that silicon spray that the fat guy sprays on a screen door on the bottom of a boat and said it worked. I'm not sure how long it will last though.
