My grandparents loved this show.
So did I. I remember going and playing with my toys during Hee-Haw. When Hillbillies or Andy came on I was sure to watch. My grandparents were devote Christians. Grandma could really play that piano while grandpa followed in with his guitar. After a hard day of work they enjoyed these programs together. Great people! I miss them.

Your grandparents sound a lot like mine. Great people no doubt about it. Sure had a lot of laughs with them and the Hillbillies.
With 3 channels to watch it's not like there was a big choice one what you had to view. Plus more than 1 TV in a house was unheard of...

Hell I loved the show. We watched it with the whole family, grandma, mom and dad, and siblings. It was a big hit.

My favorite episode had Robin Hood " Jethro " and his merry men "a bunch of hippies." They all wanted to meet granny and smoke some of her crawdads.
Jed was Big Daddy and the hippies always wanted ‘bread’ or ‘lettuce’.
In the first season Jethro had a sister played by Max Baer.

During the episode that Jed and Jethro were going to shoot some golfs
they also told Granny they would cut her some greens to cook.
When they made to the first green, Jed says somebody already skimmed them clear to the ground.

Pretty sure they visited a local meteorologist who had a picture of his weather forecasting grandpa. In his hand was a small case for holding a bug.

She would only drink a thimble full. Of course her thimble was the size of a pony keg.
I do remember this. I think it was the head of the Los Angles Weather Bureau or whatever they called it at the time. It was his father in the picture.
The Beverly Hillbillies sucked. A note of interest however, the house used as their home was next door to the house Ronald Reagan bought post his time in DC. The address of that house was 666. Nancy successfully petitioned the city to change the address. Now back to your circle jerk. Just know Ellie Mae got fat.
They only mentioned the wedding, didn’t show it. Pearl told the Clampetts that Jethrine left someone at the alter and eloped with Jasper DePew.
Fact check time:
- The Beverly Hillbillies were great
- The house used for the show is in Bel Air not Beverly Hills but is not an immediate next door neighbor to where Reagan lived also in Bel Air but a close neighbor down the road and around the corner
- It's true Nancy Reagan petitioned to have the address changed 666 to 668.
Life would suck if we all liked the same things. To me the Hillbillies were endless laughs and easily the funniest show of all time. I could list 100 more funny names or bits.
