I don't think Jan or her staff have hurt their chances recruiting a good 2026 class.

Iowa's coaches jave proven they can continue winning at a high pace. Continued our 9 year 20 win streak, have won 8 of 10, barely losing to two top ten teams.

They have continued the Iowa lady's culture of family and growth personally and athletically.

Fingers crossed they can bring in several top guns.

The reports of the death of Jan Jensen as Iowa's head coach were greatly exaggerated.

I agree. However....the real test will be if she can continue to bring in the recruits/transfers. 90% of the time, the team with the better players wins. If Geno had the Northwestern team, he isn't taking them to the Final Four.

Getting Addie Deal was HUGE!!!! Keeping this freshman class committed was also HUGE! She's gotta keep the talent coming through the door.

I agree with this. We had a really good season coming off the last 2 years of CC and losing who we lost. However, what’s crazy is we still finished in 11th place in the league. With the addition of UCLA and USC plus Oregon this league is only going to get tougher. I’m still convinced we’re going to need a transfer or even 2 next year as it’s an even bigger transition year.

The quality of the womens game continue to grow. Coaching and development of players pre college and while in college is improving everywhere. Personally the top 100 prospects in general today are better than the top 100 of ten years ago. More gals that feeds more teams. It gives a bigger pool for us but everyone else.

I only wonder if the struggles of the MBB at Carver are helping to keep the fan enthusiasm growing for the women?

What happens if Beth hires a hot coach and basketball fans get excited about the men's program?

Yeah, I don't think there's any question. Everybody loves a winner and Iowa hoops fans will turn to whichever team scratches that itch.

"Technically" they finished 11th.

They applied a technical tie breaker to arrive at the standings for seeding purposes.

Correct! Technically also implies rules to facts (their record only).

* according to an exact understanding of rules, facts, etc.:
* according to rules or to the law:

* with regard to or in accordance with a strict or literal interpretation of something (such as a rule, a term, or an official description or designation).

Last year they lost :

M Davis 23 mpg
Clark 34 mpg
K Martin 28 mpg
G Marshall 30 mpg
S Goodman 9 mpg

They aren't losing that much production this year even if Feuerbach doesn't return. I agree that they need to be aggressive trying to get some portal players.

We’re losing 3 of our top 4 scorers. Olson, Affolter and O Grady. And if Feurbach doesn’t come back that leaves only Hannah and McCabe. The Freshmen while being all highly recruited didn’t play a ton down the stretch and score much at all. Probably be starting a Freshman at the point 3 Sophomores and a Sr in Hannah. That’s a very young team in a very tough league.

Seeds do not equal standings.

History will show that they finished tied eighth in the Big Ten.
Technically they finished tied for eighth.

"finished tied eighth in the Big Ten" <> or != "technically they finished tied for eighth"

The saying, they got off on a technicality. Meaning, there's an implied rule that says it's not what you think it is.
Example: You were speeding at 80 in a 65. You get off with no charges because the speed gun hasn't been recalibrated within the last 60 days so "technically" you weren't speeding.

I could be wrong, but that's my understanding of "technically" in a nutshell.

You're behaving like an idiot.

Technically they finished eighth in Big Ten. Technically they are an eleventh seed.

Both things can be, and are, true.
You're the one who started this stupid argument by picking apart my compliment.

Technically what I said is a bigger compliment to the team because of being that much better than where they finished (11th).

BTW, one of us is name calling while the other is winning the argument.
