Another FM coaching gem. Total waste of his freshman year. Ran up and down the floor for about 2 minutes in enough games to burn his redshirt. Should have had him for one more year which would have been huge.
Melsahn had a few as did Eric may when he wasn't hurt. But idk if I would say they are major contributors to the top 100. Any time Woodbury dunked it felt huge due to the rarity.
Agree on the last part, I don’t think he dunked as often as Gessell. Both would make you get out of your seat!
I've always been partial to the Devyn Marble dunk against Minnesota to seal the game.

Never seen someone improve from their freshman year to their senior year the way Gabe did. So much fun watching him just flat out get better.

Biggest coaching blunder of Fran's career. Totally wasted a year of elegibilty. O could have really helped the team had he not been wasted.
I could’ve sworn I saw Gabe at a Walgreens in Cedar Rapids around Thanksgiving, but I also knew there was no way it could be him. He has a hell of a doppelgänger out there.
Perhaps the most gifted eye poker I've ever seen and I've been a Hawk fan for a lot of years. His form was impeccable. Beautiful crouch into a full arm and finger extension and bam!! Brings a tear to my (and many of his opponent's) eyes just thinking about it.
As a freshman Gabe wanted to play and we needed him to play,.. Fran has never dictated a red shirt.
Yeah I don't know why fans always insist on blaming the coach for this. He leaves it up to the player. As long is Fran is honest with the player regarding how much or how little the guy will play and gives him solid advice it seems the right thing to do.
