Iowa played terrible yesterday no doubt. But, at least 3 or 4 plays went uncalled and hurt Iowa in my opinion. 1. Smith got flat out mugged on the first series of the game on 3rd down. Bethard got his helmet ripped off on a sack with no face mask or illegal hands to the face called. Bernard got hit late ob on a scramble with no call. And clear holding calls my group noticed in the first qtr. Just terrible officiating.

Seriously? Iowa just got whipped. Officiating played zero part in the outcome.

Chop blocks on almost every run.
Still don't think it made a difference in W vs L but score for sure.

Not debating the outcome/ score/ whatever you wanna call it. But, stating there was a few no calls on our QB who was already taking a beating.

I read fine. To paraphrase you said Iowa lost when they said it was a Big 12 crew. Tell me how you are not blaming the officiating for the loss.

There are always a few no calls. Almost always both ways.

It's just hard to see those that are bad against the opposing team.

How is Iowa supposed to play a "competitive" game when even the refs don't call a fair game?? That's what I'm asking. Iowa did not stand a chance.

You need to try and watch a game objectively. The officiating in the Rose Bowl was fair and consistent

You need to go away.
The chop blocking that went on never goes on now in good games.

I agree they missed a few. But like I said, they missed a few each way.

Be nice DogBoy it's a new year.

Iowa slipping seem to be more of a negative impact, but that is the first time I have seen a quarterback have his helmet ripped off and no foul called. He was hit late out of bounce but that was a 50/50. However, there are big plays that happen - key in the outcome of the game - like the Iowa defender in perfect position to make a tackle but fails because he is shoved in the back to the ground right in front of the ball carrier - when a team is allowed to mug defenders like that they will put up 35 points in a half.
