Gary Barta sucks

This game doesn’t really have any effect on that fact but figured I’d work it in while the lather is fresh. Gary is a wonderful fundraiser but an unbelievably horrible, crap-toothed goober of an AD.
Fund raising is the number one job of an AD…

Chris Jans.

154–45 overall record. Literally never had a losing season in 7 seasons as a had coach. Won the WAC 4 out of his 5 years at San Diego St. Has Mississippit St. in the top 20 in his first season as head coach. . . . . And hails from Fairbank Iowa.

If we were to part ways with Fran and hire Jans, that would be a SLAM DUNK. But Barta doesn't have the stones to make that happen. Not in a million years.

I'm not giving up on the season just yet. But food for thought. . . .

you could pull people out of the crowd at CHA who could do just as good a job of fundraising as Gary, and those random people would probably not deplete Iowa's reserve fund due to lawsuits or hand out ridiculously 1 sided unfavorable coaching contracts that have mired our athletic dept. in mediocrity.

We the fans suck. The $$ keeps rolling in and excusing a terrible nepotism hire on the football team and a basketball team that falls short of expectations. There isn't much heat coming from the fanbase and expectations are mediocre. The future of both programs seems to be on a downward trajectory.

You left out his Urban Meyer moment that got him fired from Bowling Green. (I literally forgot Urban Meyer actually coached there as well until I typed that. Delightfully ironic).

Personally it wouldn't bother me, but the combination of the gestappo-PC age we live in and the programs own history with the Pierre Pierce incident likely disqualifies him at Iowa.

We won the BTT and 26 games last season. There are a ton of coaches that would line up to have that "downward trajectory."
The BTT is a nice accomplishment but I’m guessing everyone, or almost everyone, would rather lose in the first round of the conference tournament and make some noise in the NCAA than win the conference tournament and crap down their legs in the NCAA.

If we finish in the top 4 or so for the last handful of years, plus a 5, i think we are trending fine. Also with the next 2 recruiting classes and possibly a portal with the swarm building momentum i think both teams will be on the right track
