I take it he didn't get a release since he has to sit out for a year? It isn't an intra-conference transfer so he shouldn't have to sit if Boise State gave him a release, correct?

My guess is he red-shirts either way (release or no). With Heil, Collica and Smith back at 141/149/157, he doesn't fit, but Collica will be a senior next year.

I agree, the sitting part makes sense. I don't see where he would fit into the lineup this season. Still, the having to sit out for a season made me ask why.

That I can happily accept. I was simply saying I wouldn't infer that Geo is chopped liver based on his loss to a redshirt(albeit one with very high expectations). Geo is a guy that most teams would be very happy to add to their roster.
