George Raveling in “Air”

I’m just wondering if anyone is planning on seeing the new “Air” movie. Apparently, George Raveling is a character in the movie, played by Marlon Wayans.

I knew that George worked for Nike after leaving coaching, but I didn’t know of any role he had in the Michael Jordan partnership or the development of the Air Jordans.

Just saw it tonight. Jordan insisted Reveling played a role and he wouldn't have signed with Nike without him. Heard on a podcast that they rewrote Reveling into the story after Damon and Affleck talked to Michael. In the movie they mentioned Iowa when introducing Raveling but I can't quoye exactly what they they said. It happened so fast and my family got all excited so I was distracted ha!

PS. Excellent movie. Highly recommend. Great story and lots of 80s nostalgia.

Not even sure. You never see his face or hear his voice (except for one when he answers the phone).

It was something along the lines of "You don't know who George Raveling is? The coach of Iowa?"
