Dear Valued Customer,

We hope this message finds you well.

Following various roundtables with Toy Association, Astra, and retailers regarding the
tariff changes, we would like to inform you of upcoming adjustments to our pricing structure.

xxxxxxx is committed to delivering high-quality products and services, along with outstanding customer service. We have made every effort to minimize the impact of these
changes and continue to offer competitive pricing. Nonetheless, these new tariff
rates directly impact the cost of our products/services.

As we think and hope that this situation is temporary, instead of increasing each of our 800 references individually, we have decided to create a line at the bottom of the invoice entitled "tariff surcharge." This surcharge will only be 10% instead of the 20% imposed by the government. It will be much easier to remove or modify this surcharge if the situation changes in the coming weeks or months.

For the sake of transparency and trust, our invoices will include a single line item
that reflects the additional charge. This will be effective March 24th, 2025.

We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your
understanding and continued support. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

xxx

Wait for the deflationary depression following the deflationary depression.

Kinda like an airplane caught in wind shear. Pilots think they are safe. Wait for it.

Is that suppose to be comforting? What you are saying is "After the economy turns to shit, prices will come down." Sounds great.
Yes and he who has cash wins. He with debt likely does not win. He who survives in govt likely wins.

Trump lit the fuse on an asset bubble pumped up by cash. Hope I'm wrong.:rolleyes:

will prices come down? Doubt it. Heard this crap when fuel prices skyrocketed. Companies temporarily added a fuel surcharge to cover the expense. I’m still paying it.

This company is obviously price gouging. China, Canada and Mexico are paying the tariff charges, Donald told us so. Who are you going to believe, American companies or the orange man?

Trumpflation on prices is real. And will be getting worse. Although the repubs will just tell the lemmings in the cult that prices didn't REALLY go up. And the lemming dupes will believe them, as they pay more for their trailer lot rental, cases of Keystone Light, Osh Kosh by Gosh bib overalls, cheap gold China made sneakers, and racoon stew at Lillys Downhome Cafe. But hey... they do save $$... no dentist bills! 🤣

You gotta love the stereotypes the libtards fling at conservatives.

As a 90’s Republican - the last of the sane ones - I’m waiting with bated breath (and liquidity) for the Trump bump. Keep the phuck up going bois. Keep it up.

We received another email from a vendor today.

Dear Valued Partner,

At xxxx, our commitment is to provide you with the highest quality products at the best possible value. We take great care in keeping our pricing stable and only make adjustments when absolutely necessary.

As you may be aware, a 20% tariff was recently enacted on goods imported from China beginning March 4, 2025. Unfortunately, this unprecedented situation requires us to adjust our pricing.

Effective April 1st, we will be implementing a price increase to account for the tariffs (see attached.) Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and we did our absolute best to minimize increases wherever possible. Any orders that ship prior to April 1st will not be affected by the increase, but backorders will be shipped with the revised pricing. We also want to assure you that if these tariffs are removed, we will promptly revisit our pricing and adjust accordingly. Our goal is always to support your business with competitive pricing and exceptional products.

We truly value your partnership and appreciate your understanding as we navigate these challenges together. If you have any questions or would like to discuss how this may impact your orders, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to support you.

Best regards,

Good way to lose customers, but you do you.
We are going to lose customers either way. Everyone's sphincter is going to tighten and no one is going to be buying anything besides the necessities. The least I can do is let them know why the prices are going up.

We don't move enough to get the cool discounts. I'm in the market for a NAS myself, I'm leaning towards QNAP but I like Synology too.

I've used Synology for >10 yrs now. Just upgraded from an outdated model
Very easy to use and even someone w/o net administrator experience (me) can figure it out.

Want to get a security camera setup that works w/ it. No need to pay subscriptions if you're using your own server to buffer the video feeds.

Also, I like that it will update over internet, so when traveling all my stuff will still feed back to the NAS. Unlimited "cloud" storage, and if my shitty internet flakes out, I can still access all my stuff locally over Wifi (main reason I don't use things like Office 365 for cloud backup)

BTW- have zero experience/background on QNAP systems, so no idea what works best for various applications.

I got my first Synology years ago on the basis of an IT guy that liked them and told me it'd do the things I needed (mainly syncing between systems and providing RAID backup). Lots of other features I've never dug into.

They are very similar, QNAP is a little more budget but not that much more. They both run Plex media server which would mostly be what I use it for.

No experience on how good Synology is for that. I can say that reliability for the ones I've had has been impeccable (zero issues).
