Watching this team play is a thing of beauty. So many weapons
Thing of beauty. The new rules have been huge for the Hawks. Hawks already knew how to play clean defense and now have more freedom on offense. 4 turnovers in the entire game! Going to be tough to beat with that stat line. The trap and zone are great with the new 30 second shot clock.
I thought Michigan was confusing us with their pressure early in the game but didn't see them go back to it.

I will admit, seeing them in the pre-season, and then that tournament, then at ISU, I didn't see THIS team coming.
Could be a really special year, like a B1G championship special year.
Make a good run in the NCAA, then recruiting keeps trending up...
We could be headed for good things.
Then football, we get the commit today and good things there.
We could be on the verge of the greatest period EVER in hawkeye sports.
BUT.....this IS the Iowa Hawkeyes. Something will happen to screw it all up. Sort of like the rose bowl game vs Stanford. That is usually how things unfortunately end when you are a Hawkeye.

I have said this before but everything looks so much better when you have multiple shooters.
considering Iowa had 1 day between MSU (travel) & Michigan (which was my biggest concern going into the game today) was very impressed with the energy level today. Todays game was huge in protecting home court..make the 2 road wins very meaningful.

Ellingson DNP 2nd half ... BE is struggling..needs a confident booster shot.
had the game not been as close..it would not have surprised me that Fran would have given C Williams a couple minutes..I thought I noticed when we got up 12 points..Williams was told to move to the chair next to asst coaches...then Mich got it down to 5 or 6...and he moved back.

So nice to not have the scoring draughts we've had in previous seasons. We've had good shooting that I think has really been bolstered by great passing. Our ball movement is much better this season.
I have been really surprised at how well Uhl and Baer have played off the bench. Today, Wagner also played very well. Our starting five has been great for the past month, but we wouldn't be on the run we are on without the spark we are getting off the bench. It is amazing how confident Baer and Uhl are playing in huge games, even on the road.
Brady wants some confidence he needs to quit screwing up. Don't know if he is here next year as he just doesn't strike me as athletic enough to defend at this level.
Ahmad is going to tomahawk something hard one of these days, that kid is going to be a lot of fun to watch the next few seasons.
Interesting to hear Beilein in the post game presser talk about how important he thought it is that Iowa has 4 seniors starting. It's a rarity in college ball any more. Add in with this group that Woody and Gesell have started a very large number of games together from year 1 and AC and Uthoff have countless game time minutes with them as well. A lot of experience and learning how to win together.
I didn't believe it until today. That was a pretty good Michigan team we beat, even without Caris. Michigan has great shooters and is loaded with young talent. Walton Jr was the best guard we've seen this year.
