Oh no, it is Friday, November 13th at Minnesota. Kickoff at 6 PM on FS1.

A battle of two 1-2 B1G teams. An ancient rivalry for Iowa. One that more often favors the Golden Gophers.

All-time seriesMinnesota, 62–49–2 (.558)
Trophy seriesMinnesota, 42–41–2 (.506)

The University of Iowa are coming off a first win at Kinnick, with a 49-7 win over the Michigan State Spartans (1-2), who unlike Minnesota, took care of business against Michigan in 2020.

But, when do these type of comparisons ever prove to be highly reliable?

Iowa has won five straight in the series. The Hawkeyes have never got the 6 in a row win. The Hawkeyes have never won 3 straight in Minneapolis.

Minnesota has a veteran QB in Tanner Morgan. An outstanding RB and WR to lead the offense. So, why Iowa in 2020?

CBS NCAA FB suggests both teams have shown flaws in 2020. But, short weeks favor home team: Minnesota.

Prediction: Iowa 27, Minnesota 20 per Athlon Sports, oh my. In Iowa's two losses, 20 has been the Hawkeyes' limit.

Iowa has a challenge tonight: Minnesota is 15-4 under Coach Fleck when it has a 100-yard rusher and the Gophers are 20-3 all-time under Coach Fleck when they score first.

Minnesota RB Mohamed Ibrahim leads the nation in rushing yards per game with an average of 190.3.

Last time at Minnesota, the Hawkeyes got off to a quick start, in a 48-31 win over the Golden Gophers.

The Hawkeyes held their leading rusher that day to 62 yards. Ibrahim didn't score a TD.

This game is a tough call. Iowa must play smart, disciplined and make more plays than the Golden Gophers. And, hold them down for the sixth straight game, which has never happened in this series.

1. Explosive plays: must hold Gophers in check. Iowa has more trouble against Purdue and Northwestern. Iowa must like 🏆 games, not involving Wisconsin and Big Ten title.

2. Limit turnovers and penalties. Negative plays really hurt, with a rookie QB. Iowa is less experienced at that key position.

3. Tackling is so basic, but key. Team defense. Iowa has shown issues against the run, in both losses.

4. Iowa benefited from 4 interceptions last time there. Will that even be possible again?

Not my pick for tonight:
