Going to Lake Tahoe - looking for suggestions

Heading to Lake Tahoe for a family reunion the 3rd week of June. Any suggestions on restaurants, close day trips, or other must see attractions?

We are also going to be spending a night in Reno before our condo in Tahoe is available. any suggestions for there too would be appreciated.

Have fun and bring water. I would encourage you to not just stay in South Shore. Sunnyside on the North end ( Tshoe City?) has a large deck overlooking the lake. You also might enjoy visiting Truckee.

+ 1 on the south side. Incline might be more expensive but it is nicer. Do the tour of the Thunderbird Lodge for some interesting history and connections to the Rat Pack. Squaw Valley is interesting if you're into the Winter Olympics.
The drive around the lake on a clear day is quite scenic as well.
Lone Eagle, Sunnyside, and West Shore cafe are all good spots to grab good food and a cocktail with a view of the lake. Truckee is a nice town to park and walk around in with shops and restaurants if you're looking to kill some time.

Drive up to Truckee......the drive around the perimeter of the lake is very scenic.....really sectacular. We have a Marriot vacation home there (not boasting) and have driven around the lake several times. Also the boat trip around the lake is also great.
