I don't think that the Gophers have an answer for Spielman and Morgan.

Also, the Gopher O is limited ... so for as bad as the Husker D is ... I think that the Huskers can manage to win in a comparative shoot-out.
Whichever freshman QB is more effective passing will be the difference in this game IMO. Spielman and Morgan are very good receivers but Minnesota has Johnson and Bateman performing at a high level also. As Iowa found out, Minnesota's run defense is formidable and the Gophers have the best pass rusher in the B10 in Coughlin. Nevertheless, Martinez is very elusive. Its a toss-up IMO. If Minny can get the run game going with Inrahim and Brooks, it could be an uphill battle for Nebraska.

I think this would be a more devastating loss for Minnesota although it's hard to say.
I tend to agree. Fleck is 2-10 in the B10 so far and without a road win. His team is sitting at 3-3 after 3 straight losses and he is expected to show some progress this year. Nebrasks's season is shot. Frost isn't going anywhere. Fleck needs to get bowl eligible - a loss here and Gopher fans are going to start wondering if they have another big talkin Tim Brewster type coach.

Agreed. I’ll go with diarrhea though
The ‘hersey squirts’ do go away. But, the game could end in a tie. If at the end or near the end of regulation if rain starts falling and suspends the game.............better yet rains and the game never gets started.

This should become an annual trophy game.

The Old Oaken Pillow, or Paul Bunyan’s Pillow, or something.
The HazBen Trophy - one side with memorabilia from the Great Depression & WWII, the other side with replica items from the early 1970s and mid 90s with a prairie gopher holding an ear of corn on top.

Regardless of how bad Nebby is, young teams don't often win on the road. Gophs pass defense is bad and AMart should have a big game.

The worst part will be trying to interpret Fleckster's post game interview. That clown is just weird.

This just in, Shawn Eichorst proclaims that Minny Gophers are not a benchmark for the Nebraska program.

Frosty gets his first win as the Huskers coach. They should have beaten Northwestern last week but they will finish the Gophers off. 7-10 point victory for the Huskers. While their lines suck, they DO have some very good skill players.

If Minnesota had a better QB, I think they take this game because the WR units are fairly equally talented IMO, although the Huskers have an experience edge there. Martinez is very elusive and could be the difference in this game if he is passing well.

I don't believe that Nebraska will get much going on the ground (Minnesota has a pretty stout front 7) whereas Minnesota looked good rushing against Ohio State last week and Shannon Brooks has been medically cleared to play this week.

MN LBs Coughlin and Barber remind me of Iowa's Josey Jewell-Ben Niemann duo -they are everywhere and they tackle well. Coughlin is the best pass rusher in the B10 and could cause a lot of havoc when he rushes from the edge.. Should be an interesting game.

Fact I read in the Omaha paper today.

UN and Minnesota have met 58 times. The average score is 17.7 -17.3 with the Red holding the lead.

That right there my friends is a rivalry.

At this point, they're both a god damned embarrassment to the division. So I hope one of them plays something that remotely resembles the game of football.

Nub - 28
Minny - 24
