Gotta help the NET and NCAA seed

I don't even know how these people come up with these numbers, ESPN just had a thing about how MSU is the conferences best chance to win the National title, and OSU is more likely to make the Sweet 16 over everyone besides MSU and Maryland. Lets just seed the tourney and play the games.

Just more BS from ESPN. As you suggest, I think I'll just watch and see what actually happens.

BTW: Duke got blown out by unranked NC State, and the immediate response was that Duke still has a great chance to be a No. 1 seed. LOL

Funny you say that I was shocked to read an article today that part of the BPI formula is a teams pre season ranking. Well no shit all these blue bloods stay at the top of the convos even if they suck.

I don't think the Purdon't blowout hurts nearly as much as DePaul and Iowa State going down the toilet. Almost forgot, also losing to Nebbie.

The NET rankings place way too much priority on > 10 point victories. If you look at our resume based on quad 1 and 2 wins alone, we stack up with the best in the country. Our defensive efficiency rating really hurts us along with playing 3 of the absolute worst teams in Division I basketball. I'm fairly confident Kennesaw State is dead last at 353 and they are currently 1-25 on the season.

I can't fathom how Maryland isn't getting some love as a possible 1 seed. They win out and they'd have a damn good argument over Duke and maybe even Kansas. They'd be like 28-4 with as many Quad 1 wins as anyone else in the country. Meanwhile, Gonzaga and SDSU have been playing St. Mary's Sisters of the Poor for three months. B1G gets no love, as usual.

Won't matter when teams hit the second round. 7 seeds, 8 seeds, 9 seeds, all the same type of competition. Seeds really only matter for first round games anymore, which is why it's important for us to get at least a six seed. The four #1 seeds, are deserved right now and SDSU beat us up pretty good, while we smoked Maryland at home. Gonzaga and Baylor have one loss each, SDSU is undefeated.

That was early in the year before Iowa found it's identity, but yeah they looked good. We'll see how they do if they get Kentucky as a four seed and Maryland as a two seed in their bracket. I wouldn't bet on them to make the Final Four unless they get incredibly favorable seeds in their region.

It would definitely improve our shot of playing in the second week if we could earn a 5 or 6 seed. I think 12-8 and a win in the BTT would probably get us at least a 6 seed with all of our Quad 1 wins. I am amazed that we keep on winning, even with CJ out. GO HAWKS!

Honestly, I think this is the weakest group of 1 and 2 seeds I've seen in a long time. I've watched Baylor several times now, good team, not a 1 or 2 seed. This years tourney will be wide open.

Umm you do know the NET has a cap of 10 for margin of victory, right? Efficiencies might get messed up by blowouts but there is no priority on > 10 point victories.

Wait. Wut? Who would you put at a 1 or even a 2 ahead of Baylor?

He’s saying in other years the top seeds have been stronger. They would not be a 1 seed in most years, but yes, they are a 1 seed this year. Or at least that is what I think he’s saying.

Looking at previous years 1/2 seeds, this years look weak. Think Duke/Virginia last year. Those guys were monsters that I thought we'd have no chance to even be on the court with. Usually Kentucky is way better, but this year, just kind of blah. Kansas is good, and maybe the top team, but they played ISU without TH about the same as we did. We had SDSU down by double digits and they are 1 seed. We crushed Maryland at home, and they are 2 seed. Baylor looks ok, but 1 seed? Dayton has one really good player and another good player, but 2 seed?
