Franny...tell me brother..im 97.6% sure remember reading cj had off season surgery last off season...am I wrong or right... dude just seems fragile

Gentlemen,
IOWA played M2M the entire game (except for some inbound plays) and limited 3Pt FG%, OFF redounds, 2pt FG% 34%, while winning rebounding by 9.

this might show that IOWA doesn’t need Garza or CJF to win, rather, they can win with defense and rebounding and playing inside out (Nunge 6 A, Garza 1A) to set up 3pt FG%.

to me this represents a huge change in strategy by Fran, emphasizing defense via M2M, emphasizing interior D (with Nunge and garza playing together) and we see how well it worked limiting homestanding tMSU to < 60 pts.

this sort of defense can carry iowa

Not sure if it is MSU being really bad or Fran recognizing they needed to mix things up, but it looked like guys were more active on offense than they have been. At least 3 back doors for layups, guys moving the ball faster, Garza seemed to recognize when double teams were coming and made quicker decisions. When Iowa moves the ball like they did today they are a tough team to defend.

here's all 13 made 3's

The most awesome thing about this game? Win by 30 against a (usually) good team on the road. Jbo didn't go off, Luka wasn't really Luka, and CJ wasn't even dressed. It shows how good this team can be when they play hard on both ends. Hope it can continue.

Remember when Gatens went off his senior season?

what if that happens w/ Weezy?

Joe could really boost his stock by coming back for one more year and being a go-to guy, but could just be wishful thinking
That may be more likely than you think. He's a solid player; not sure if ready for NBA yet.

Don’t go too crazy. I loved the effort today and it was great to see some other guys step up, but MSU was atrocious shooting today. Iowa gets some credit for the D effort, but MSU missed a crap ton of bunnies and open jumpers.
