That fadeaway 12 footer that travels 11 1/2 needs to go
no question CM makes the offense go. Hit a couple 3s and if he’s hitting that shot teams are in big trouble against the Hawks .
Defensively he was super slow and I’m sure it was his ankle. He needed to sit the first half. I was surprised he stayed in so long the second half.
Best post entry passer on the team, maybe in the league and maybe in the country.
But he needs to play less according to many on here. I agree Murray needs to play more, right now those minutes shouldn’t come from CMac.

This strategy some teams are deploying where they don’t guard Connor on the perimeter is proving to be really ineffective and dumb.
The whole rotation is contributing, but Connor is the floor leader. I also noticed he wasn't running all out at times.
I wanted to see Keegan and JoeT start a couple weeks ago but JBO and Connor have really picked it up.

Getting Ke Murray, P McC and Joey T in together on the floor is a huge advantage. The game immediately speeds up and the defense becomes much tighter.
Patrick and Keegan, and Joe of course, all create havoc on D. Look at how many wild passes were forced by Keegan and Patrick-with the other guys showing themselves good with steals and loose balls that result from the first forced bad pass. Excellent synergy.
Patrick is tremendously athletic. When he calms down a little when driving he is going to be a monster. He covers a huge amount of floor space on D.
Just looked it up. Prior to Connor, the last 7 times have been by Bohannon. He actually had 3 straight games at the end of his freshman year in double digits (I would guess that is the only time in Iowa history that has happened), in which he had 34 over the 3 games.

I have said he should play SLIGHTLY less, but definitely see his value. My point is that we have to get our bench guys prepped for the tourney to maximize our ceiling. You saw some of that tonight (Keegan 12, PMac 10 and Toussaint 6 Steals, and they changed the trajectory of the game, along with Connor). Tonight was strange in that both Weezy and CJF were not playing well and were very limited in minutes.
What was cool was when we had bench guys + Connor, he was the total glue guy. We have so many potential lineup combinations.
Connor has also been working on his 3 ball and if he can shoot 35% or better, that will be huge going forward.

Boy, I'm sure it felt good for Connor to see those threes hit all net. He needs to keep shooting those. Noticed that he took one dribble to get him in rhythm and splash.
He's normally deadly with that shot. He just waited too long to shoot it this time, almost like an afterthought. Was it late in the shot click?
I think Jbo is just starting to find his rythem on his shot, and just as we get into the heart of the BIG race. CMac just does all those little winning plays like a couple of times where he just dug the ball away on defense, or as Hummel said, "He crobarred it away"! 10 assists to ZERO TO's and 2 for 4 from three looks pretty good in the stat sheet though......
on other hand, if team doesn’t gyuard him, it is easier to make passes he does. He just waits for Luka or someone else to get in position
Fran has done a great job managing the line-ups this year. He has played different line ups and the team has responded well. I like the way some players have stepped up if others are having an off night. Too often in the past, an off night by two or three players meant a loss. Fran is able to ride the hot hand this year and bring in other players of someone is struggling.
He’s learning to counter the double and there’s really no doubt the offense runs a lot better with him in there, especially when it involves setting up Garza. Yes Keegan should play more but as others have said that should come from Bohannon and Nunge not Connor. Connor has the toughness this team needs.
I would agree Fran is doing just fine, except for the Minnesota game, that loss is on him.
Anytime Jordan Bohannon doesn't shoot any free throws when teams are intentionally fouling late in a close game, that's a MASSIVE failure on this Coaching Staff or any other that has that weapon on the Team.
You quadruple screen for him if you have to, then Order him not to pass the ball. The foul is coming and that clock is ticking, and he takes care of the ball, slow footed or not.
I think the calls to play less were largely after Minny when he played 34....the 26 and 24 in last 2 he played seems more appropriate, especially if keegan is getting over 20 mins......don't think it's a knock on connor as much as people being excited about the young guys, it's a good problem to have
