I realize we didn't have five finalists like PSU, and that our boys didn't bat a thousand in the finals like Okie and OSU. But just the same, we had 3 finalists (second only to PSU) and 6 AAs (tied for the most), despite the injury to Stoll, who had a good chance of making it 7 AAs. And lets face it, most of us who watched all of Iowa's matches this year, didn't think we had much of a chance (OK, no chance) of making the podium at 141 (no shit), 157, 165, or 285 (poor Stoll). In the end most of us realists were counting on 2-3 finalists and 5-6 AAs (likely 5 based on Meyer's performance down the stretch). So while we didn't knock em dead, there's really no shame based on the talent we brought to the big dance.

Kudos to Gilman, Clark and Sorenson for making it to the finals, and to Burak, Meyer and Brooks for making the podium (and achieving their best finish thus far at the NCAAs). And a special kudos to Meyer, who could have easily thrown in the towel after losing in the first round, but instead battled back through the consolation bracket to finish 8th!

I'm in no hurry for next season to get here as I'd like to enjoy Spring, Summer and Fall, before freezing my ass off again, but I am looking forward to what our team will be bringing to the table next year!

Is this what it's come to?

Yes, this is me congratulating the AAs for their outstanding performance. And while you don't have to like the team's final outcome (trust me, neither do I), you should respect and appreciate the fact that those kids busted their asses for years to become one of the top 8 wrestlers in the country at their respective weight this year. Oh wait, I should tell them they are pathetic for being one of the top 8 in a respective weight class...the top eight out of the tens of thousands of kids who busted their asses at the high school and college level in hopes of making a college wrestling team roster? Again, great job, gentlemen! :)

Maybe in the offseason they could read a good book.

Congrats to our athletes! They busted their asses all season long and deserve respect for it! Not the finishes they want but as stated earlier they did pick up their highest All American finishes to date.

How do we compare to other teams in returning national tournament points?

Why would you be a dick on a thread congratulating these 9 young men for their efforts? They are college kids not professionals athletes. & keep in mind some of their parents & prospective student athletes parents frequently visit this message board.

Hopefully, some posters will lose interest this offseason and not show up next year.

Thank you Hawks for your hardwork this season. I really enjoyed the season and there is a lot to be proud of.
