Great Teasdale interview last week!

Sounded like it. They talked about how he scored 96 points at state his sophomore year and how he visited during the trials. Then said he was 31-0 this year and at the end asked about what's next and he said Regionals this weekend the sectionals then state.

Good to hear from Gavin; obviously very excited to have him coming to the program.

That said; Casber is a terrible interviewer...or at least he was ultra-terrible in that one IMO. He definitely doesn't realize that Mejia and Renteria have decommitted based on his comments. So many of his questions were terrible. Nice job from Gavin to roll with the punches.

Ok so I wasn't hearing things.

Gaspber has the same voice when he interviews people as the guys who announce what you could win on a TV game show...you just won a BRAND NEW CAR !!!!!!!!!!!!! just how many pull ups can you do?? do you like climbing ropes?? how about hand strength?? do you work on your grip? I dont know but some of those questions were kinda weird sounding ....but hey at least Gavin sounded committed to TNT and the Iowa style !!! Its awesome to us people that don't see such huge crowds for wrestling...to actually see Carver when its Full and the fans are rocking the roof!!! and its for almost every match. I thought the best part of the interview was when his mom or sister opened the door and he freaked out...quietly of course and then continued on with his part of the interview. He is a great kid from a great family and seem ready to be a GREAT HAWKEYE!!

Love his enthusiasm. It's great to see that kind of love for the sport. Sounded like he was ready to lace 'em up and get after it any time.

That seems to be a common theme with Young Guns kids. Jody seems to do a fantastic job of helping his guys learn to keep their love for wrestling, keep a smile on their faces, and just relish the competition. Of course, they're all tough as nails, which helps, but they all seem to genuinely enjoy the sport. You might even say they're having fun. . . .

god casper is the worst, i couldn't watch the whole interview because his questions suck so much.

He has done some good interviews but was off his game on that one. Didn't do his research and asked some bad questions. I still appreciate him putting it out there. I love watching Gavin wrestle as much as any recruit in a long time.

Don't know why but this interview(er) just made me think of this recurring skit on Bob and Tom radio show ... On a serious note ... Man, I'm excited about the future of Iowa wrestling ... Edit: Just listened to the complete interview ... Okay, I appreciate the work this guy does but his interviewing skills are not good ...

I was surprised to hear him say that he's a junior in high school and 18 yrs old.
Man that seems old for a Jr in HS. My twin boys are freshman in college and are 18,
skipping no grades. Gavin must of been both held back, and be old as dirt for his grade.

No idea how we can call this a "great interview, Casber is BRUTAL. That said it's comforting to hear Teasdale talking about his commitment to Iowa. These early commits are always going to be nerve-wracking until they put pen to paper.

By great I mean there has been some worry on this board about weather Teasdale is truly committed to Iowa. This interview is a "GREAT" indicator that he still is and always has been.

I was 18 as a junior. I had to take my physical for the draft (Army Ft Des Moines) when I was a Senior. Some of us opted (flunked) for an extended secondary education.;)
