Got home last night after our 8+ hour drive. Sure is better after a win than a loss. Great environment in Kinnick on Saturday, chilly and breezy but we had plenty of antifreeze. Conditions were difficult with the cold and wind but the Hawks kept grinding. Defense was great and our offense took advantage of its opportunities. They kept it conservative, but this game was a game of attrition.

Our boys came to play. They had a lot of fire and togetherness. Not sure how many saw the team at time outs. Most of the players on the bench circled around the starters. Total team togetherness.

Not sure what will happen the next two weeks but I am proud of this team, Tough road to Indy, playing at Minny (high of 20° next Saturday) and then Nebraska at home (always a tough game). Purdue has the easiest path with NW and Indiana. Illinois at Michigan will be tough. Minny has us and Wisconsin.

Let's all come together and support this team. They haven't quit, like some on this board. They aren't nitpicking, whining or making excuses. They are strapping it on and coming to play. Iowa's toughness is a reflection of their coach.

Go Hawks, one game at a time. Take down the gophers Saturday.

If we beat Minnesota, I feel highly confident we will dispense with Nebraska. If the West is on the line for that game we roll.

totally agree on this. a team with the attributes of toughness and togetherness deserves every last ounce of support. the way they continued grinding it out on Sat after the occasional setback was something special.

2015 was the last time the Hawks beat those three in a season.
Ugh. That isn't good.
Pregame was ok, not as many Whisky fans as usual, to talk crap with. Students late arrive, early leave as always. It wasn't as cold as expected. Game dragged, people begging for something to cheer for besides incomplete passes. Pick 6 woke people up for a while. Be interesting how many Husker fans show up, red usual dominates Kinnick, if it does this year, they really are die hards.

Funny, the Nebraska game was the last one to sell out.
