Thanks for this post. Just watched the 06 btt title game. My wife came in and said “hey you found some sports to watch”. When I said it was a game from 2006 she just said that was sad.

Referring to the video posted, not the post that said 1987. The video is the 1989 game where Iowa did get smoked, In the 1987 game, Iowa came back from a 20+ deficit and won.

While I remember Steve Waite's shot, I forgot most of this game from 40 years ago.
Iowa made all of their free throws, and got big boosts from Vince Brookins, Kevin Boyle, and freshman Bobby Hansen. Sad to see Lester playing without his burst of quickness.
Hard to believe it has been 40 years -- way too long since a Final Four!
