Grothus 157

Maybe that's why Tom only mentioned 141 and 165 the other day, as far as weights that need answered.

I will now remove 157 from the tossup category for Sunday's dual. New score prediction Iowa 31-ISU6

A friend talked to him, but details were vague. My question was is he staying at 57? He said it was unclear. My next question was is he healthy? Still unsure. I guess maybe we will find out more Sunday. I've been on here a long time. I wouldn't just post something like this if I felt like it was false. Since he's coming off of bicep surgery it wouldn't surprise me to see him try to go at 57. He had a heck of a time trying to make 141 last year.

He weighed in at the grapple to so don't get your hopes up

That's all.

If this turns out to be true, there is going to be a crow dinner that makes Thanksgiving look like a light snack.

Did any of you see him last Friday?

I saw him at the duals and he looked in great shape for 141lbs. The IAWRESTLE boys even commented on their podcast to his slim look at the Iowa duals.

Ok here's what happened. A friend of a friend of a cousin's friend who heard from the mother in laws cousin from her sister who lives in Davenport, Iowa was at Northpark Mall and thought she heard Pete Bush (Brody's ex high school coach) say 157lbs. Then finally Sanders heard from......well, someone but now I confused myself.

Brody 141lbs.

I know Kelly beat Brody last year regularly, despite Brands not wanting him to, so I hope Brody goes 141. I think if he gets some matches to get used to quicker guys, he can make some noise.

I'm hearing 144 this evening and also don't be alarmed or surprised to see if they take it slow and build for March. Make what you want of it but want you all to know everything is going as planned.
Good to know.
Thanks for the insights.
We are in awe.

And ummm, so like, we don't all have to report our weight to you, do we? I mean, some of us still may be "cutting down"

He doesn't need to rush out there for Midlands. He just needs to be healthy in March and look out. I hope they hold him out until mid January if he isn't 100% by mid December.

That said, he will need a decent number of matches under his belt by Big Tens for seeding purposes, etc.

At some point they need to fish or cut bait. Here's to hoping they will be fishing.

And if he was at 144 tonight that's great news. Should have no issues with 141 in 4 weeks.

I assume most guys walk around at least 5-7 lbs heavy, especially when they won't be wrestling for a month. Is him being at 144 just to make sure he can do it safely? Does he still have to certify?

if I recall correctly, someone thought when Dake beat Marion in the 141 finals, he weighed about 160 at the time of the match. AM weigh in, match at 8 PM.
