PG Fleming. A 6'5" player who can shoot it out to 25'.
SG Ellingson. A 6'4" player who is the best pure shooter on the team (perhaps)
SF Jok. Another 6'5" player who can stroke it.
PF Uthoff. Obvious. Length helps, although his release isn't as high as Jones imo.
C Jones. I would argue that of these 5 players, he has the best chance of getting his shot off.

What I really wanted to highlight here is Jones. This guy has long arms, has a high release, and even fades a little on his 3 ball. VERY, VERY hard to block - I think he can get that baby off almost anytime he wants and it has great arch to it.

Uhl is another guy you could add to the list - not a pure shooter but another Big if you wanted one.

That's a crapload of 3 point shooting. Long 3 point shooting.

Obviously a little far fetched for defensive reasons. Can never have too many shooters though.

Fleming will take a while to develop however. It's pretty clear he needs to break some bad oak hill habits.

Finally, IA has so many good 3 pt shooters! They should be in every game if those 3s fall, exciting year for the outside shooting potential instead of the high flying dunks of last year. Hey, IA got two dunks from Clemmons and Uhl tonigh.

Yeah, I'm not saying I want that lineup out there, just showing who we have at different positions. Probably ill written in that regard.

Watch Jones shoot though, he can get that shot off against almost anyone.

its all about percentages but I would suggest the days of Fleming shooting 25 footers are probably not in the cards...Jones has a lot of confidence shooting over people...doesn't have to be wide-wide open.

I'd switch out Fleming with Gesell but other than that, it looks like Iowa has multiple guys that can stroke it.

I think the best pure shooters are Jok, Utoff and Jones, in that order. But if Uhl can keep hitting the 3 like he has the first two games, he is going to be unguardable.

Fleming? No.

Haven't seen anything other than a few fancy passes. He ain't ready.

I am not a huge Clemmons fan but I would put him on the floor 99 out of 99 times over Fleming.

Mike, Pete, Jarrod, Dale, and Wagner to crash the offensive boards, although Uhl could work as well.

Nothing on Ellingson, just think it would be too early (in this situation) to trust him with a game changing three over more composed and experienced guys like Gesell or Jok.

Fleming and Ellingson are a combined 3 of 14 (.214) from the 3-pt line so far. You know that will improve eventually.

I like this.....and if Uhl keeps improving his outside shot and all around game coming off the bench, this team will be very hard to beat. Dom for me was the unknown talent with the level of play he was going to bring to the table and after 3 games, Dom's adding 11.3 ppg in 19 mins of play, 5-9 from the 3pt line and 4 rebounds a game....Excellent.

Per Hawkeyesports.com:

"Dom Uhl is shooting at a 70% clip from the floor though three games. The sophomore has made 14 of his 20 field goal attempts"

Yup. Sure lucky we missed on some guys and ended up with Jok, Uhl and I think Ellingson will end up on that list sooner rather than later.

Just for fun their ESPN evaluation scores? 75, 73, 65.

SAVE THE GAME! Make them actually play before anyone gets to determine who won.

That is pretty amazing Dan and funny....much like our football team, just teach the children well, work hard and good things will happen.

One shot, needing a 3...to win a game...Uthoff...hands down...

To win the game I think you might be right although I find myself wanting to see Pete shoot it almost every time down the floor. I think it is going in anytime PJ, JU, DJ put it up.

Agree with Jok...shooters need to shoot, a lot...and he loves to shoot. Pass the rock to Jok...please...

Still would take Uthoff to win...I like his demeanor...he can get the shot off...

Best pure shooter on the team is probably Jok, but Ellingson is going to be there soon. It's just a matter of time. He is only shooting 25% from the 3 so far but 62.5% overall from the floor and 83% from the line. His form on his jump shot is the purest on the team.

Uhl has been a nice surprise. I had read that he shot a decent percentage from the 3 in HS but I was not expecting much more that 35%. That he is shooting 55% is crazy.

Fleming, on the other hand, is shooting 30% overall from the floor and 16.7% from the 3. I hope he just needs some time to get used to the speed of the game.

I don't know.

If its an isolation situation with some time left on the clock then yes, Uthoff can do anything and everything and hes your best player and an excellent decision maker but if its coming off a screen where there's no decision making just catch and shoot Jok is tough to beat. Quicker release and better range.

Jok scares me when he does anything other than shoot but I always expect his shots to go in.

Iowa might be the best 3pt shooting team in the conference this year.

Jok is always looking to shoot...and seems fearless...and is a good shooter...nice to have those players as a part of a team...
