should be a real fun dual if it happens at National Duals.
Iowa favored at 285 if no Nelvis and PSU favorited at 157 and 165. I feel the rest of the matches could go either way, just depends on who comes to wrestle that day.

I didn't bring it over while endorsing it and if you read my responses(I didn't want to bring the thread over here) you would see that. I thought it was laughable and figured some on here would find it pretty funny that someone out there actually believes this kind of stuff.......

I enjoy and understand your normal posts and don't get all emotionally upset with you like some here seem to do continually........however

This seems like a stretch cause you can't think of anything solid to say. Probably not a good idea bringing this over. Nobody cares. Not really funny.

Besides, you need to get your ass in gear and start helping out on the Brody thread. Haven't seen you there recently.

I actually enjoy knuckleheads like this guy. It gave me an opportunity to point out how Brands is 7-2 against Sanderson coached teams and he went 2-2 against them during their 4 year Championship run. Simply put, NEVER bet against Iowa in a dual meet.

I have avoided the Grothus topic like the plague. I am sure I could add 5 pages of chatter by a few posts alone, but I don't want to end up on Willie's Black Flag List. :cool:

Unfortunately except for Gillman, and sometimes Brooks, PSU is wrestling more the Iowa style than Iowa. That doesn't mean we're not winning. But when talent is a tie, the tough guy wins.
 
I am not sure about this PSU team but I have always thought, even with their best teams, that that was the one area we had the edge. TOUGHNESS. McD> Tougher than anyone they sent. St John , while not as talented as Taylor I would take in a fight any day of the week and twice on Sundays. If there is one thing the Brands do better than anyone it is get their guys to fight.

Now Zain & Nolf seem pretty tough to me. But I credit that to Strittmatter more than Cael:)

So I would say that when we have guys close to equal on talent I will always bet on our guy. The problem we have right now is the equal on talent part.
 
Seriously the best way to get a person like that is just to totally ignore them. It is a prediction. A stupid one, but certainly in his right to make. He is probably creaming his pants that we started a whole thread about it on a Iowa board.
 
Are you sure he is smart enough to even know about this forum? Even if he does, do you think he follows it?

Also, I never subscribed to the ignore the "bully" or "annoying" person philosophy. Better to punch the guy square in the face and end it or confront the annoying person and get them to stop doing so before you also punch them in the face. :D

That is why I like this board. I know I inevitably annoy some on here regardless of my intent. For the most part, they make sure I know it. No one pulls any punches.

I thought the format of National duals was just 8 duals matching the top 8 (coaches poll) B1G teams vs the top 8 non B1G teams with no brackets/advancement. If that's the case then there will be no PSU vs Hawks.

That said, iowa would have to be wrestling exceptionally well to beat psu.

farmer is off on 133 and likely 184. 125 is a tossup imho, but give Gilman a slight edge, as he's stepped it up a notch. 149 - i'd give a slight edge to Retherford right now. So i see psu favored in 6 matches. Burak wrestling well, capable of an upset. Would be a great dual.

If you really believe half of those, you're delirious. I've seen all of those guys wrestle multiple times, and most of those aren't close to what would happen. Also each of the teams has had better guys around some of those weights than the guys you have listed.
 
There are still some very knowledgeable and well tied-in posters on that forum. The problem is you are now lucky to get them in 1 out of 6 posts. And there is no doubt that it has been overrun by PSU zealots and an anti-Iowa theme is prevalent. I just enjoy talking DI wrestling so much that when I have a 100% stuck in the office day, I can't help but get the banter going!

Zain is from Central PA, not western PA where young guns is. Im not saying he never ventured there or ever crossed paths with Jody as I have no idea, but my opinion is his toughness is more from his up bringing and the hughes family that polished him up when he transferred to Benton.

I had him in our room when he was in JH and wrestling HS kids. Kid paced back and forth, never sat down and just went full go all the time.

Maybe not, but 41, 65 and 74 do not have a track record against the other guy. It seems like McIntosh has had Burak's number.

Burak (autocorrects to Burka by the way) looks really good. Hard to believe he's a 197 - very big guy. Then again, Cox makes 197
