I saw a technical called earlier in the year so I know it is still a T. In the Michigan vs Louisville game why no technical? I know they called the basket interference but if there EVER was a "hanging on the rim T" THAT was it!

I was also wondering why that wasn't called.

Why do you want refs handing out more techs? It's giving a team free points at a crucial part in the game. They called basket interference, that's enough penalty. God you guys probably thought that was a good flagrant foul call in the Seton Hall-Arkansas game.

He was asking what the rule was. Is it a technical or is it not? Pemsl was called on the exact thing earlier on a missed dunk for hanging on the rim and attempting to grab the ball. Don't be such a dickhead.

Thank you coidfemans. If they want to get rid of the rule I'm fine with that but I've seen it called for lesser this year. I recall Aaron White getting T'd up for it also. This was about as blatant a case as you could get, used the rim to hang on so he could try to tip in his missed dunk. I want to know why it isn't a T. Can't say they "missed it" because they called basket interference.

God forbid someone ask a question on a message board. You need to get laid.

Agree. They should only call it if the guy swings back and forth a few times. Personally I couldn't care less if a guy wants to do a pull up, etc. FWIW I have thought Cook was pushing it a few times, but fortunately no call from the refs. The best way to not get a T is not to do it, though.

The officials missed it again. Hanging on the rim like that is a textbook T. Period. End of story. And I remember well much less egregious rim hanging being called on Aaron White a time or two. That's BS to NOT call that. WHEN it happens has no bearing. Read the freakin' rule. It doesn't say anything about it not applying late in NCAA tourney games.

It seems like they try to avoid calling that especially if there's another player coming in under them. Generally its called when a player pulls himself up on the rim or hangs for awhile. Unfortunately like so many violations, its open to the interpretation of the zebras, and their not very consistent on how they enforce it.

Then get rid of the rule that you can only hang on the rim to avoid injury (which we all know is not why they hang on it anyway) and call it something like a T for "unsportsmanlike"

No argument in the getting laid part. Hanging on rim should never be called a T. But you college bball fans want whistles everytime down the floor, you'd think I would know that by now.

Again, look at name on jersey and coach on the sideline! Some teams are treated differently. And don't forget, Louisvilee plays in God's conference, aka the ACC

Got it then your vote is to get rid of the rule. But right now it IS a rule in case " you non-college basketball fans" didn't know.

If anyone is even close to being under the guy dunking the ball, they let it slide. I didn't see the play, but from what I've seen in the tournament so far, they have been letting quite a bit slide.

I hear ya. I don't really think it should be a rule at all, but I was trying to say that, since it IS a rule, it should only be called for the most egggregious offenses.
