Hankins and Creamer Arrested

So........disorderly conduct means what here? They were fighting? Arguing? Resisting the cops?

Trying to figure out why they were arrested for being at a party. One thing to get cited for underage drinking, etc, but they were arrested and released..........

KInda makes me worry about Hankins future.....wondering if there are issues beyond his injury and this incident. Creamer seemed to have already disappeared.

I have heard enough

" Disorderly Conduct"

They acted disorderly , which means they were not compliant and or acted in a way that was not acceptable

If your out past past midnight after a tough road loss I am assuming you care more about your social life than you do about your athletics"

It's time to levy some tough punishment on these two.

Neither player was arrested. They received a citation for the house party.

They will be suspended this week, per press release.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz announced Sunday two players have been suspended from the team after receiving citations from the Iowa City Police Department early this morning. Trey Creamer and Matt Hankins, second year defensive backs, did not travel with the team to Penn State. They each received citations for noise complaints and disorderly conduct related to a house party.

“Their actions demonstrate poor judgement and are not reflective of the high standards of citizenship that we try to uphold,” said Ferentz. “It is difficult but important to hold student-athletes accountable.”

Both players will not participate in any team activities for the next seven days and are not be eligible to travel to Purdue University.

Creamer, a redshirt freshman, is a native of Cartersville, Georgia. Hankins is a sophomore and a native of Lewisville, Texas.

Hate to say it but Hanks is starting to look like the Rugamba movie.
1. Battled injuries
2. Lost starting position to younger player.
3. Did not travel for road games
4. Suspended for violation of team rules

Ironically, Rugamba lost his position to Hanks.

I hope Hanks is able to change the script but two games past the halfway point in the season and now suspended from all team activities this week probably kills, if not cripples, any meaningful playing time the rest of this year.

Hankins did not travel because he is hurt. He had wrist surgery a few weeks back and then it was reported on here he has a hamstring injury.

My concern extends beyond this. We could've used Embry/Rugamaba/Snyder this year. Maybe not as starters but at least as important "next man in" types. Now I fear these two will be announcing a transfer in January. Depth is always a concern and sometimes I wonder if we aren't our own worst enemy in that area.

Looks like Brandon Snyder is staying healthy and playing well.
That's awesome to see.

Their "tough road loss" was as tough as mine. Sitting on a couch watching the game.

Well, I started the thread about Creamer. I think this gives me a little bit of an answer. I think he's been in the doghouse, and he's now on strike 2.

Any chance someone can get Stanley to down a fifth of whiskey and set Him up in a lawn chair with some Metallica blasting at say 2 in the morning in the ped mall sometime this week?
He’s been there once, on his recruiting trip. Probably better make sure he’s passed out when you take him. Pretty big dude for you to handle, too. Good luck.

Wow, this is clearly nothing. I received 4 disorderly house tickets in my time at Iowa. One I got while sleeping where my roommates were still partying. Woken by police in my bed to write me a ticket. Another at 8AM playing music before going to tailgate. IC cops gotta get their $. Moving on.

University statement seems to be the appropriate response in this instance.
Does this mean anything longer term for either player?
In itself, this relatively minor issue would be nothing. I do wonder, though, with Hankins if it's part of the bigger picture that leads to a transfer at the end of the year. We've seen this before.

Ha, I once got one passed out in bed. Woke in the morning to a ticket in my bed. Not kidding.
