Happy 100th birthday Nike Kinnick

A great American hero and an Iowa football legend who passed away much too soon.

side bar - I mean no disrespect whatsoever to Kinnick, his relatives and descendants, or anyone's family for that matter, and its certainly not my intention to question or attack QChawks .....BUT.... does anyone else think it is a little weird wishing happy birthday a dead person? I don't know why but I always found the practice to be strange - even when one of my brothers or sisters does the same for one of my deceased parents. Again, I realize the motivation is true and honorable just... "happy birthday" seems out of place. Its not disturbing, just odd....or not, I could be alone in this feeling, it wouldn't be the first time.

Happy Birthday Nile.
Wish we would have had a big celebration for the occasion.

Go Hawks

MUCH respect to Nile Kinnick. He was a class act and true representative of the U.S. and Iowa. Proud to be a fan of the program that Kinnick inspired. PROUD!

True story: I'm at a DMV office years ago getting some personalized license plates that allude to my association with the University of Iowa. The DMV clerk that is processing the paperwork, etc. understood what the plates were about as he had the last name of "Kinnick" and was actually related to NK.

Yep, it's a small world.....but I'd hate to paint it.

and.....CSB.
