Has Farniok been to Iowa City before?

I don't recall seeing anything mention him unofficially visiting.

If he hasn't been to campus, then he'll be blown away by the facilities.

Having Iowa as the last visit for him could help land him.

When is he coming?

Is he a 2017?

Tom Kakert said in their latest podcast that he feels Farniok has cooled on Iowa, or possibly Iowa on him.

I think it is hard to tell with Farniok because he is so quiet about his recruiting and doesn't say anything that shows he is leaning one way or another. He still is saying he hasn't made up his mind. I just find it hard to believe if they had cooled on him or him on them they would still be having him for an official visit. I don't buy it. There is no reason to Iowa to cool on him.

Just don't see him being a Hawkeye. I've seen him in action,....good but not great. Far more impressed with the junior from Bettendorf. With the kids we signed last year I think this is a kid that would be a nice get but not a big loss.

Hate to say it but after the Army All Star Game I've cooled too. Tough showing for him. Will still be interesting to follow his path and I wish him the best in his journey whether through Iowa, Nebraska, or Morningside. Lots of ways to get where you want to go.

I assumed this is why KF offered Kallenberg. I figured we have just moved on from him

I just watched Farniok's highlight video. I am much more impressed with Kallenberger. Much more athletic. Both seem pretty aggressive. Farniok is listed at 6' 4.75 295 lbs and Kallenberger is listed at 6'6 250 lbs. Kallenberger has more frame to work with.

He will probably go to Nebraska. It will be interested to see how he fits into Scott Frost's system once Riley gets fired after 2017

It looks like Alaric (sp?) Jackson is a Nebby lean too, IMO Jackson has a really really big upside...but also a really really big risk too (very raw). If Nebby can pull both these guys and Raridon that is a pretty solid OL class. I too think Farnoik is solid, but it would be a bigger loss for him than Iowa if he chooses the Huskers. I doubt that the 2016 class for Nebby will have the same coach throughout their career from Riley's track record

Some of you dolts are hilarious. If he commits to the Hawks, you'll be the same dullards who tout him as the next best lineman ever. You need to worry about what's happening in Badger land. We own you the last ten years. You stole one in 2015, but that was an anomaly. Why you obsess with nebby I'll never know, the B1G west goes through Madison.

kind of a dips hit aren't you? Tell you what, If you take your tired act to another team's message board, I promise not to say we cooled on you and didn't want you anyway.

In all the interviews I've seen, Farniok comes across as a well-spoken and thoughtful young man.
So, I wish people would not bash him.

In regards to the 'cooling' statements in the podcast, I understood Kakert to be referring to Iowa could be cooling on him. Can't be positive though.

It was mentioned somewhere that Farniok was iowa's top target regardless of position for over a year. I can't remember which site had that quote but if that is true, no way does Iowa just all of the sudden cool on him. the only way I see that is if it is the other way around, i.e. they feel they aren't going to get him. But his coach just said the other day MSU, Nebraska and iowa are all recruiting him equally hard.

Besides that. Everyone on this board is calling Brett Wacheter the next great one. Even the coaches high on him. I suppose his high school diva attitude carried over to college and dropped him down the ladder on depth chart.

there is no Brett Wacheter on the roster.

I have an awful lot of respect for Wisconsin, I really do. However, being you are now on your 3rd head coach, numerous new coordinators, and even more different position coaches. In all honesty I am not worried about Wisconsin moving forward. Recruits take that into strong consideration. I understand the D coordinator going to LSU, but when you have several head coaches complaining about assistant pay and lack of support that is a problem. To make matters worse you have a coach make a less than lateral move going to Oregon State.....it was a good run, but your time is over my friend

Thanks for the post, after reading that I am warming up to him more. He really seems like an "Iowa" type kid. Plays to play and not for the hype, has ability to be versatile and although I still do not think he is a kid that will make or break our class he will be a very valuable kid to have in our program. IMO I think Iowa (from what I read in this) is probably the best fit for him. Best of luck in his decision and wish these types of kids best of luck no matter his decision
My thoughts exactly

Too much drama. "I'll decide....keep following me...keep guessing....keep wondering...keep begging me.....I'll decide which school fits my expectations/needs.....I'll let you know when
I'm ready'''.

Would have to believe Farniok has at least been to a few games in Iowa City with his brother Tom having played at ISU. But prior to opening new football complex.

Agree that bashing any kid personally is douche and counter productive, especially a recruit. He could probably kick the living sh*t out of 99% of the people on this board.
Critiquing someone's play is fair game.
Referring to a recruit as a Puss, even if intended as a backhanded slap on Nebby, is not cool. Grow up.

The kid will make the choice that is right for him. Some people are overboard with bashing on people they don't know. If you wouldn't say it to their face ... Then maybe don't say anonymously on a message board.

The kid obviously has talent and is in a place 99% of us will never relate to... Being a big time recruit in the world of college football.

Saw Farniok at our health club last night. Massive kid, very nice too. I've talked to him before but didn't know who he was. My 11 yr old son told me who it was last night when we were getting ready to leave and before I could go talk to him some goober in a Nebby hoodie went to talk to him. I did hear the goober ask if he knew where he was going to go and Farniok said he hasn't decided yet. I'll try to get some info next Wednesday.

Follow him into the shower stall and tell him that you're a big Nebraska fan.
