“Dear @nytimes we have had our Constitution ratified for over 236 years. So far it has proven to be rock solid and an example for the Free world. It is also perfectible. Which is why we have the Bill of Rights, for example.
The argument presented in the article above is specious and one could even say subversive and treasonous. For the last 3-4 years every single reform you have proposed or any political stance you have opined on is accompanied by a narrative about a 'threat to democracy'. You, your editors, journalists, and guest essayists are completely incapable of producing a cogent argument for or proposal for reform without the use of danger or threat to democracy.
Until you are able to articulate policy positions or political opinions without scare tactics and fear mongering whatever credibility you have left is on the fast lane to zero.
