Has the Republican Party Become the Party of the Working Man?

Oh, so AOC just wants to reshuffle the bureaucracy and separate functions into different executive agencies again?
Why?
To what end?
Or here?

Just a whiff for you...

“Would you get rid of Homeland Security too?” Remnick asked.

“I think so, I think so. I think we need to undo a lot of the egregious, a lot of the egregious mistakes that the Bush administration did. I feel like we are at a very, it’s a very qualified and supported position, at least in terms of evidence, and in terms of being able to make the argument, that we never should’ve created DHS in the early 2000s,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Ocasio-Cortez later doubled down on Twitter to further explain her position.

It’s really not that radical.

When DHS was 1st formed by Bush 17 years ago, many members of Congress were concerned - incl GOP - that we were setting up a ticking time bomb for civil liberties erosion & abuse of power.

Discussing reorganization shouldn’t be out of the question. https://t.co/dLckI4UYIL
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) July 11, 2019
“Discussing reorganization shouldn’t be out of the question,” she asserted Wednesday night.

She added that “132 members - incl GOP & Independents - voted against creating the Dept of Homeland Security.

“Don’t let people rewrite history as if DHS/ICE always existed, or is a no-brainer,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “It’s a young agency, ill-conceived after 9/11 & sacrificed our civil liberties - like the Patriot Act.”

Oh look...quote that from the letter.
Second to last paragraph. Browser on my phone doesn’t want to copy what is highlighted on the PDF.
The part where she wants to replace deportation with a ‘humane and just’ policy.
Need more clues to flesh that one out?

Most people I work with, even those that voted for Biden, don’t approve of him at the moment.
That's certainly the sense that I get from the constant reports of Biden's low favorabiity ratings. But why? That's the part I don't get. Are we just too stupid to see what Biden is dealing with?

Well DUH!!!

By taking peeks at HS children's pee-pee's and vajajay's!!!

Maybe we can sign up some MAGA sex-offenders for this job

What jumped out for me from those tweets is this part

Section C has the verification process if accused of being trans.
- External and internal genitalia evaluation
- Testosterone level check
- Genetic makeup test

Not the tests so much as the "accused of being trans" part.

"Accused"?

Seriously?

Why do you think? Take a stab at it.

Contrary to popular con beliefs, questioning something is not the same as proving it's bad.

At least make an effort to understand before you attack.

I'll bet we can put that former Olympic gymnastics doc from Michigan State in charge of these "inspections"....

I don't understand your concerns here.

Teenaged kids are SO comfortable in their own bodies....where do you see the issues with "inspecting" them and the subsequent impacts on their mental health? 👀

(Let alone, the stigma of "Dude....did you hear they checked out at Rhonda's penis yesterday!!! She's a DUDE!!!)

If there was a true moderate from either party that was pro union and pro labor, I think they’d clean up. Unfortunately both parties seem to be run by the extremists corporations and the wealthy now.

I mean, these guys have to turn off the Fox News/Newsmax. The idea that the current Democratic party is run by extremists is absurd. It's run by cautious, timid, do-nothing "moderate" old people.

Culturally, yeah. Economically, not really. (granted, dems aren't much better)

But everything is cultural now.

This the culture wars have taken over our politics.

The Dems are not in line with most of the working class on the culture wars and have been rejected because of that.

While the wealthy may have paid less in taxes due to Trump tax cuts, so did working class families.

I don't think either party is the "working mans" party, but if you know very many working class/blue collar people, you know their values are much more aligned to the Rs right now. When they see massive corporations and the dems in lockstep with the left, they can't identify with that.

Pride month, and all the corporate virtue signaling from the left/dems isn't going to help this perception in the short term. Actually, this is probably the worst month to ask this question.
What "values"? I keep asking this? Multiple divorces? Gold toilets? Paying for sex with underage girls? Graft?

I want to preface this by saying, I don't want to imply the Dems are the "Working man's party" because they aren't.

To the point, the GOP being the working man's party is laughable. If they were for taxing the s*** out of the rich, national health care, putting limits on profits by energy producers, pushing for higher minimum wage, cutting low/middle class taxes plus more things than I will list or even think of then they might be.

As it stands now, they are about as far from being the working man's party as one can be.
Yet……it would appear the non-educated working man, who hasn’t had a sensible thought in his brain for quite awhile, is easily convinced it is. dumb asses!

If by "working man" you mean "blazing pieces of stupidity that will believe any inane nonsense", then... Yes

I don't want to abolish ICE. I would just change their tactics to storming the offices and homes of employers who illegally hire undocumented workers. Maybe snatch some of them off a public street and toss them into a van. Do this, and we'd see changes real fast.
Again, "undocumented workers" . They are illegal aliens who broke the law, ICE should be "storming" more businesses. If you want to come and work in this country, do it legally, Republicans support LEGAL immigration. A nation that can't protect it's borders and enforce it's laws doesn't exist long. And leftist sentiment is helping to speed the downfall of this nation.

I'm happy to keep pointing it out when you make racist comments.

You can stop me at any time simply by reining in your racism.
The standard trope of leftists labeling anything they disagree with as "racist" grows tiresome. It is a sign of marxist thinking, nothing more. And has no effect other than making the name caller feel better about themselves. Calling someone a racist when you disagree with them is old and childish and just makes you look like a radical idealogue.

Yes. Your dad's & grandpa's democratic party now fits in with the current Republican party.

Adjust your registration accordingly.

What racism? Be specific. Also Google the definition of racist. There is a very large requirement to be met that there is no way in hell I have met.

If Tim Scott and Ilhan Omar walked into a Philly union bar, who do you think would get the better reception? The one who wants them to keep more of their money or the one that wants them to make the bar’s bathroom situation more inclusive?
Oooo! Can I play?

If Tim Scott and Ilhan Omar walked into a Philly union bar, who do you think would get the better reception? The one who wants their kids to get free education or the one that wants to cut education in order to lower taxes for the bosses?

No, the point is that you can pick any two polarizing figures to make your point.

Trump grabbed a lot of "working class" with his cult of personality. The question moving forward is can the GOP retain any of those votes with their platform of "owning the libs" and tax cuts to the wealthy.
Trump supported America being the greatest. Biden is destroying everything. The proof is cut & dry by now.

Tim Scott wants to cut education? Show the link, now you are just making shit up.

If they knew them... Scott. Because Scott isn't a woke dem.

Ohhhhhhh......the greatest?! I didn't realize that he 'supported America being the greatest'! That changes everything. The gold toilets, the porn stars, the graft, the incompetence. So long as he "supported America being the greatest' then it was all cool!

lol, if that were true Republicans would support penalties for companies that hire illegals. They don't. They never have. You know why? Because they own a lot of the companies that employ those illegals. Just like Trump did. It just is an easy way to raise money by demonizing the people you're employing/exploiting.

First of all that is not true, many Republicans have supported penalties for companies that employ illegals. And you will find that it has been Republican administrations, both State and Federal that have supported ICE raids of those businesses.

What happens when we abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement?
What happens after that?

1) Is she all Democrats?
2) Abolishing ICE doesn’t mean eliminating immigration and/or customs enforcement. It never did mean what you think it means, and just a minute of time researching would make that clear for you. A very good friend works for American Friends Service Committee, which has been part of the movement to abolish ICE. Let me see what’s on their website.

Here’s a quick read from afsc.org:

This is truly ironic.

Raids for cameras makes for good fund raising. But if they were serious we'd have e-verify for all employees across all states.
