I can’t recall a game where the Hawkeyes had so many blocked shots. Not even when Acie Earl was playing.

Keegan had 3. The one on Potter at the rim was most impressive.

Weezy’s block at the end of the game was probably the most important. Man! He got off of the floor!

Patrick’s block at the rim was beautiful, clean and really a timely block.

Luka had several around the rim, but you come to expect some of that.

That was fun.

Pure numbers? There's certainly been more. A lot of them generally don't register in 2D at home. A lot inside get affected but hit the glass and just look like missed shots, and the box score always shows more than you think. But wow, last night every block was a big one. There was no confusion. And no fouls were called. There was a lot of complaining about officials in the game thread, and that's the nature of playing a grab and go team like wisconsin, but there were no anticipation calls where two guys go up and there must be contact. Guarantee you with a different crew a lot of those clean ones get called. How many has Murray totaled this year that were clean that he got hosed on?

I also liked the fact that the Zebras allowed for a little extra physicality for both teams as well....

Yeah thats what stood out to me - usually a lot of blocks are with a fingertip, barely altering the shot. Many of the blocks last night were showtime blocks - GET OUT OF MY HOUSE type blocks. Love the intensity they played with.

Keegan and Patrick are both very good shot blockers for their size. Nunge is as well. Makes me excited about how good our defense can be next year.

Great point
M2M discourages outside shots resulting in more droves to basket
iowa has some pretty good athletes to block 1 of every 4 shots
