Still going and Tom Davis is on. Fun reminiscing. Tom is a big fan of Fran.

Tom Davis, who made an appearance on Hawk Talk, speaking about Fran McCaffery:
“With this year’s team, I wanted to mention, I think this is as good a job as I’ve seen of a coach taking new talent coming in — the freshmen class or the new players, transfers, as well — and merging them with what you had returning, with some pretty good talent returning. And (to) be playing at the high level they’re playing is pretty amazing. That’s a pretty amazing coaching feat.”

Dr. Tom was a genius. Iowa was blessed to have his style of ball woven into the fabric of the state.
And blessed to have his leadership through the Chris Street tragedy. Nobody could have handled it better. The way that team responded is hair-raising to this day. I was at the first home game after Chris died vs Michigan's fab five and it was by far the best crowd I've ever seen at any event. The emotion in that arena literally willed the Hawks to a win.
Sad how it ended for Dr. Tom at Iowa. The Hawks last sweet 16 came fighting for Davis as a lame duck coach

We've been cursed since 1999. 30 years later after Street's death, Fran's own son is involved in his own tragic motor vehicle accident.
Whenever I hear the word “terrific” used in a sentence I think of Tom Davis.
