Is that a thing in the women’s tournament? Cutting down second round nets? Never noticed that before. Men can’t because there’s two games, and two winners (out of eight) at each site. I suppose for women there is s single winner from the 4-team pool, so cutting nets makes sense. Did the men cut down nets at MSG in November?

Last game in Carver for the seniors....going to the Sweet 16. I say cut 'em down if they want.

They did it when they made the Sweet 16 a few years ago also. Making the Sweet 16 does feel like more than just advancing in the tournament. I think teams do it again when making the Final Four.

Teams definitely do it when they win a regional to go to final four. I’m cool with it yesterday too - just hadn’t seen it in that round before

Cutting down the nets to get to the Sweet 16 is like an 8th Grade Graduation ceremony or the runner who stops at third, it adds nothing to the score.

Dumb.

It's a very nice accomplishment that is reasonable to celebrate. How many have you seen on the men's side lately?

Celebrate what, partial accomplishment? If your goal is to reach the Sweet 16 then certainly cut down the nets and pack it in. Do teams celebrate winning the 1st half of a game?
