The ABC affiliiate in Eastern Iowa has classic Iowa football and basketball games at 9 am on Saturdays. Today was NW bb game from 1980. For football, they had 1939 Notre Dame and South Dakota, Freedom Bowl, Peach Bowl, and Texas Tech Alamo Bowl during last year.

games I'd like to see this year:

Ill St.: 2003 opener vs Miami, OH (Iowa intercepts Big Ben 4 times)
Iowa St: 1977 Iowa St game (first game resuming series, #19 IA St had "beat iowa" on uniforms)
Pitt: 2011 Pitt game (big 4th quarter comeback)
North Texas: 2003 Iowa St. game (McCarney was coach)
Wisc: 2004 Wisc game ( first heartland game, #17 Iowa, #9 Wisc)
Ill: 1990 Ill game (Iowa beats #5 Ill 54-28)
NW: 2002 NW game (62-10 score)
Maryland: 1986 Holiday Bowl (my favorite Iowa game)
Indiana: 2001 Indy game (iowa finally beats Randle El)
Minn.: 1958 game if available
Purdue: 1997 Purdue game (#16 Iowa beats #18 Purdue)
Nebraska: 1981 Nebraska game

I tried to match up the classic game with the week's match-up, any better choices or games you'd want to see?

The 1981 Nebraska game was on last fall. The SDSU Holiday Bowl is in the regular B10 Greatest Games rotation the last few years so I doubt you'll see that. Pretty sure the 2004 Wisconsin game was on last fall also.

It's all who owns the current broadcast rights to each tape. Pretty sure the U of I owns or co-owns the current rights to all the games KCRG broadcasts and those are the only games we'll see there.
