Here's my Top 5 toughest games for the IOWA HAWKEYES this fall.

5) at Minnesota; road game after NW Homecoming game, but Hawkeyes probably favored?

4) Nebraska; Odd, last regular season game; Cold weather; however, Hawkeyes likely favored.

3) Wisconsin; Cheezerheads will certainly want revenge for punking them, last year

2) Michigan; Certainly could be a BIG TIME match-up in the BIG10

1) PennState; Never easy to travel to out there

GO HAWKS
:D

A little bit of payback coming to PSU, so maybe no shortage of motivation going into Happy Valley. The last few losses to them were tough games to watch.

Michigan will be tough, but the pressure of that gamedoesn't factor as much into the West champion (I don't think).

Nebraska could be necessary for the division, and that can put a lot of the pressure into a game.

But Wisconsin is the game where you find out what kind of stones you have, if the division is possible. No telling how good a team is before that game. It's the big-boy step, so maybe the toughest from that perspective. Go in with some questions, and come out knowing what you can do the following week. It all starts with Wisconsin---and I'm STILL pissy about the 2010 game in Kinnick.

You don't have Northwestern on that list? Minny and PedSt. over NU? Not so fast my friend!
Fitzpatrick has this game circled no doubt and it WILL be their super bowl.

I say Michigan. I think that will be an incredibly physical game. Like a MSU game.
I just have a feeling Wisky is on the edge of slipping back to the pack a bit. I don't see the defense being as good and not much change in the offense. Minnesota could be tough up there.... Kind of depends how they come out of the gates. If they are 2-2 heading into the Iowa game, then it's Kinnick north. Not discounting NW but I think our guys feel supremely confident against them rather than playing not to lose. With PSU I just don't know what to expect from them. I can see 4 losses before we play them easy and stumbling early could spell trouble. Nebby? Well if it all on the line for the west at home I believe we do not disappoint.

He supposedly has it circled every year and it hasn't worked out well the last two years.

88-17!

1 was over in the first quarter, the other was over middle of the 3rd quarter. And as pointed out in another thread, last year NW had everything to play for. Payback for beat down the previous year. Rose Bowl team honored. We had a backup center playing tackle, down to our 3rd string RB, injuries everywhere and 500 raging wildcat fans packed the stadium. Result, another beat down.

It will be one of the 5 toughest games. The hatred Fitzy has for Iowa is palpable. You know they want this game. For them it's personal. For us another day at the office. That's all I'm saying. It's....like...my opinion man....
NU should have a respectable squad this year and as we have seen a million times over each game is its own unique situation from the last. Based on some of the posters logic in this thread Iowa shouldn't have beat the clowns last year bc they won the year before right? Huh?

I agree he does have Iowa circled. Reason he picked Iowa game last year to bring back his rose bowl team and former coach Gary Barnett. Made the butt kicking even more enjoyable. Game being in kinnick makes me less nervous than a trip to penn st. By far think Michigan be the toughest game next season.

In all honesty, there isn't a game on the schedule we can over look. Under Ferentz, I've seen Iowa picked to be NC sleepers and challengers for Big 10 only to lose to ISU or Western Michigan or any other team we should beat year in and year out. On paper the only game we shouldn't be favored in (at least for now) is Michigan. Until we make it through September...

Nebraska will be a surprise team to watch out for this year.

I DO think Nebraska's record will be better this year but I am not convinced between TA and the coach they still won't lose 4 games. If they don't become a more dominate run team with TA at the wheel.....then again if they use TA for his legs they will be much tougher.
As a Hawk fan I am just hoping for a healthy year for CJ. He played and gutted it out since the Pitt game. A healthy CJ is going to be a tough out.
