With Stratton getting a win in his first career start and Sullivan doing the same three weeks ago, I'm trying to figure out how many different QBs have earned a win in at least one career start. My vivid memories only go back to the 1990 Rose Bowl year though, otherwise it's bits and pieces of real time memories so anything pre-1990 would love to have fans fill in those blanks. I have only Matt Eyde (twice in 1992, I was at both games as a sixth grader) and Scott Mullen (at least one start every year 1997-2000) as the only two post 1990 that didn't win at least one. I know 1985 on had Long, Vlasic, Poholsky, Chuck Hartlieb, and Dan McGwire all at least one but I'll let others fill in those blanks if they remember more clearly the when and where. Let me know if I forgot anyone the past 35 years. Kirk has 20 different QBs with a win and if it wasn't for Antwaan Randle El single handily winning it in 1999, Mullen definitely would've had his win too.

1990 - Rodgers
1991 - Rodgers, Jim Hartlieb
1992 - Harlieb, Burmeister (Eyde started Purdue and OSU)
1993 - Burmeister
1994 - Driscoll, Duprey (started MSU even though we barely threw), Sherman
1995/1996- Sherman
1997 - Sherman, Reiners (Mullen started Wisconsin)
1998 - Reiners, McCann (Mullen started OSU and lost but did score the opening TD to take the lead)
1999 - Reiners started our lone win vs NIU (McCann started the season and Mullen ended the season but neither got a win)
2000 - McCann, Beutjer (Mullen started the season)
2001 - McCann
2002 - Banks
2003 - Chandler
2004/2005 - Tate
2006 - Tate, Manson (Syracuse), Christensen (NIU)
2007 - Christensen
2008 - Christensen, Stanzi
2009 - Stanzi, Vandenberg
2010 - Stanzi
2011/2012 - Vandenburg
2013 - Rudock
2014 - Rudock, Beathard (vs Purdue)
2015;2016 - Beathard
2017-2019 - Stanley
2020 - Petras
2021 - Petras, Padilla
2022 - Petras, Labas (bowl game win)
2023 - McNamara, Hill
2024 - McNamara, Sullivan, Stratton

That was an impressive trip down memory lane you created.

My memories only go back one more season (when I went to college at Iowa; had very little prior knowledge of Iowa football at that time). Rodgers started all of Iowa's wins (5) in '89. Tom Poholsky started the opener against Oregon (last time they played at Kinnick; we'll see 'em there next year) in which we got blown out (unexpectedly - we were ranked and they weren't).

Prior to that is only what I've read and heard about.

Pretty sure C. Hartlieb was the only QB who started games for Iowa in '88.

'87 was the infamous QB triangle of C. Hartlieb, D. McGwire and Poholsky, with Harblieb eventually winning the full-time job. No idea how many starts McGwire and/or Poholsky had.

'86 was Mark Vlasic's year, but I remember reading when Poholsky passed away that he actually had at least one start as a freshman that season - an upset at Michigan St.

Of course Chuck Long was the guy '82-'85; no idea if any backup ever hardly played, much less started.

Would love to hear more from others who vividly remember Hayden's golden age seasons and prior.
