I think most times refs are too stubborn to change their own call. That was as obvious as it comes.
What horse crap. Not only that, but how do you call stalemate when one wrestler has the other hopping around on one leg?

That was probably it. Our bench went nuts when Gilman got the fall. I'll take a team penalty point like that any day. It was great seeing our guys celebrating like that.
Our guys need to get the escape instead of trying to get the reversal. I've seen this too many times this season. They get greedy and try to get the two instead of getting 1 and then getting the TD. It has rarely ended well; not only do they end up not scoring in that scenario, but they also allow their opponents to rack up the RT.

yep - should have cut him when the RT was cleared. put that on the coaches - but a 5th year SR should be smarter. Thorn was not ready to go much more. As for the reversal - it would have been difficult to make that call.
yep - he needs to figure it out PFQ. I'm thinking he does qualify for NCAAs and only gets 1 or 2 points - while Jimmy (a worse wrestler - even though he is ranked #1) qualifies and gets 13 points.

Love the Brands rear standing on Morningstar while Gilman has him on his back. Coaches excited for their kid. Love to see that. The penalty point was probably from Terry coming on to the mat. NBD.
Yup Terry got the rushing the mat point. The meet was out of hand so no big deal. Actually I chuckled when I saw it.
From this point forward...we can refer to the team point deduction as the Gopher "participation ribbon".

Maybe if J.R. had paid more attention to the wrestling than the Iowa bench, he would've realized Carton had a reversal.
