Hawks lose out on pro-style QB that commits to...?

Mizzou, of all places. Saw this in this morning's local rag and thought some of you hard-core types might have some interest...

Mizzou not exactly the bastion of hope for the pro-style QB...so kind of odd, although i think since pinky left, they have dialed back a bit from the west-coast stuff--but i don't pay a ton of attention to them. Perhaps some other connection was made or something.

We already got a QB this class. He had no spot at Iowa as of last week.

Iowa offered Padilla after Bazelak, and others, eliminated them. There was a group of 4 QB's - Bazelak, Clark, McIvor, and Calzada - that they offered in May, but didn't get a visit and moved on.

Can't blame the kid after the success Drew Lock had there last year. Plus, Lock is a senior so the kid could redshirt and have a chance to play 4 years in the SEC. Not a bad idea.

Mizzou is just not a very stable program right now. I guess the chance to start early in the SEC is appealing, but getting your brains beaten in by SEC front 7 doesn’t sound great for development.

Iowa doesn't like to offer QB's without seeing them throw. Sure once they saw him throw they felt he would be a good fit. Would rather have a dude commited to the Iowa way than a big armed dude.

Iowa has won with pocket guys and scramblers. I am really excited about the group of guys they have at that position. There is a reason they have had 2 4star qb's transfer as SR's in the last seasons.

Shimonek and Sokol also had great seasons elsewhere. Kirk and his guys can coach the qb spot.

I can't understand why we even bothered to offer the guy with his stat line last season. Maybe they thought he had potential like Stanley under KOK's whispering.
