Iowa is NR at 41, 65 and 97, Meyer and Brooks are 8th, Kem and Stoll are 7th. I would like to think the Hawks will outperform those rankings.

They are pretty basic(although I am sure most don't want to spend the time figuring them out) figuring wrestling to seed(rank) with no bonus pts.

1=4 advancement points +16=20pts
2=4 advancement points +12=16pts
3=3.5 advancement points +10=13.5pts
4=3.5 advancement points +9=12.5pts
5=3 advancement points +7 =10pts
6=3 advancement points +6=9pts
7=2.5 advancement points +4=6.5pts
8=2.5 advancement points +3=5.5pts
9-12=2 advancement points=2pts
13-16=1.5 advancement points=1.5pts
17-32=1 advancement point=1pt

I would also like to think that, but the past 5 years reminds me we haven't been setting the world on fire at NCAA's, so right now it looks about right to me.

Thanks MSU. You are correct about taking the time to figure out the points, but I may from time to time throughout the year to see how big the gaps are between Iowa and whoever is ranked ahead of them.

I stand corrected. They must be using SHP's computer formula for Team rankings. By basic scoring OkState would have 92 and Iowa would have 80. So basically it is figuring 20 bonus points for OkState and 14.5 for Iowa as they have OkState at 112 and Iowa at 94.5

Focus groups test how many clicks each variation of their college rankings get. They roll with whichever gets the most.

It's far different than how they do their high school rankings. For those they send out their Who's #1 invites and adjust rankings based off who accepts and who declines.
