The Hawkeyes lost to Richmond today. One of the
biggest reason was the bad 6 for 29 from 3 point land.
That is 22% and will not win many games. Unfortunately,
Iowa has often won by three pointers and today they
lost because of the poor percentage for 3 pointers.

Clutch players choose good programs. Our players chose Iowa. No big deal, just is what it is. Again.

I don’t think you could be a bigger asshole. How pathetically lonely of a life you must live. No big deal, it’s just who you are.

For me it wasn't the 22%, it was the 29 attempts. They could have won that game if someone would have said "we are off boys, work the ball and get a good look at 2 everytime and let's get to Saturday".
Doesn't really work that way.

They were trying to drive and it wasn't working well at all. Couldn't get the ball in the post either.

The 3 was what was open.

That's why a coach gets paid to make adjustments. Go small and penerate, we had them in foul trouble early. Use JO to bang the shit out of them inside even if he does get in foul trouble it will back them off. Richmond dictated the pace of play and Fran didn't adjust.

I thought that they should have attacked inside more often Iowa likes to dribble around the three point line.

Unfortunately---with no post game, jacking 3's is all this team could do with the lane packed.

I absolutely detest that flopping Burton.....but he did get into Keegan and Kris and JoeT's head by drawing fouls.
Burton is a SOB and probably would get along great with Bucky‘s Davison…and yeah, he definitely got into Joey T’s head…😕

I am always fascinated by this, so bear with me. When do you decide the shots are off for the day? Is there a certain number? Remember, Patrick hit 2 threes in a row early in the 2nd half and Iowa took the lead. So, I assume they thought ... the shots are falling now. We will be OK.

However, that wasn't the case. So, at what point, do you decide, let's change it up? It looked like Iowa decided that late (when getting the ball down to Keegan in the post on consecutive possessions), but it was probably too late. So, when is the right time? Just curious ... and yes, I know, that's why Fran gets paid the big $$$ ... :)

It’s not just a binary “shoot 3 or drive all the way to the basket”…

I think HawkRugged makes a great point about how do you know when it’s time to abandon the 3 ball, but some of the shots were really wide open and the players could have dribbled in to shoot from 16-17’ instead. Now, only problem with this idea is the same players shot pretty well from the outside of late, so why wouldn’t they keep launching?

unfortunately it’s a big old shit sandwich and everybody took a bite (players, fans, coaches, program, etc) …

And Tony's. After the lame-assed called for a charge where Burton grabbed Tony and pulled him down on top of him I thought Tony would lose his shit. That was a terrible call that changed the way Tony drove afterward.
