I am guessing we won't be but will be receiving votes. Step in the right direction. Only two Big Ten teams ranked and I don't see that changing. Rutgers in, Wisconsin out.

This team plays better under the radar with a chip on their shoulder. Can you decline being ranked? 😊
Love our chances vs NW, but It’s gonna be very tuff on the road in Columbus in a quick turnaround game Saturday ….especially with KM and FR tired legs.
Rest of the year will be up and down each week, this is most likely their best chance to get ranked over the next 4-5 weeks.
Really prefer Iowa is not ranked.

If they hadn’t lost to EIU, I’d probably agree.
Definitely not ranked but the good news right now is the eyeball test clearly shows the Hawks as a tournament team when healthy. 2 weeks ago you couldnt say that with any level of certainty. Just keeping winning.
No way in hell, at least not yet. The embarrassing loss to Eastern Illinois remains a major stain on the program and this season.
Beat a few ranked teams then perhaps the voters will notice.
Keep winning and hopefully they can turn the EIU loss into a dismissible anomaly. But if we stay in “bubble-land” it’s going to remain a big talking point and blemish.
But as the season has progressed, we can start to view that game through an interesting lens. No Kris. No Connor. And Pmac who was clearly not himself - arguably the same as playing injured, and I mean that sincerely (he was 3 - 15 that game btw).
Zero reason to lose that game regardless, but it does start to become an understandable anomaly with those three VERY key players impacted.

Even though I know the exposure brought on by being in the rankings helps with recruiting, etc; I would rather they weren't.
Iowa doesn't handle nationally-recognized success very well, historically.
I'd like to offer last season's weak first round exit from the NCAAs - same in '06 - as prime examples.
Being ranked doesn’t matter with recruiting anymore, only how much money they can make.

Hoping for a huge blowout against NW from start to finish and I said Hoping😉. Get the bench more minutes and rest them starter for Buckeyes.
I highly doubt it. No one in the Top 25 had more than 4 losses coming into this week. Iowa has 6, including EIU. Maybe they'll get a vote or two at best, but I don't see them being anywhere near ranked this week. But no matter - just keep winning and things will sort themselves out eventually.
Not quite as worried about the @OSU game as many here seem to be. Not saying I think its an automatic Hawkeye win, but I'm not gonna count them out any time soon.

You want to get to another level? You’ve got to break trends. Be fearless.
That’s one philosophy. They do play defense, just not very well most of the time.
They’re more like the Showtime Lakers who were accused of not playing defense , even though they did. Just not traditionally.
You can play defense a number of ways. Tough man to man probably not gonna find the floor here. We’re not a hand checking body up d. More of a ball denial, rebound and hack at the ball defense.
On the other hand, we push the opposing defense hard. We commit to our offense and try hard to outscore our rivals. I believe this puts pressure on the other team as much as a concerted defensive effort does.
Good defense travels. Good shooting doesn't always make the trip.
This is the reason we haven't had any NCAA Tourney success while Fran has been coach.
Your above philosophy was why we won the BTT last year. My philosophy is why we lost to Richmond.
Great points. This is where we are though. Fran got the job, not John Chaney. Ride the horse that got you here. Shooting vs Richmond would’ve eliminated most teams.
