There has to be a stoppage in play for a substitution. Players can’t just sub in and out of out (like hockey) after a made basket.

A timeout can be called, can be called now after the made basket, to make a sub. That’s been around for several years now. Maybe five to seven or so

With 1:20 left, Iowa called a TO. That was the last sub. After a Maryland made basket. Fran came out onto the court and signaled the TO after Toussaint made that layup like he was about to throw one down. The ref didn’t see him in time to grant the TO, so I’m guessing FM said he’d like after the next made basket.

But yeah, there was a stoppage, Iowa TO and I’m further guessing Iowa chose for the continuation and forego the TO.

You may have noticed that when Keegan was inbounding the ball, they stopped play. Keegan kind of tossed the ball up to himself and the ref flinched like he was about to get hit with the ball. Lol.
