The starting lineup with undersized Connor at 4 and poor defender Jbo and not so mobile Garza is not working. It is terrible defensive unit. As soon as Keegan, Nunge, Pmac, JoeT came in the defense got a lot better.
Another great move by Luka. Iowa leads by 6 as Maryland throws up an airball. No Maryland points in 7 minutes. And Luke scores again ... 18-0 run for Iowa and it's 27-19.
Murray! Ya gotta love it. P.S. Jack, stop shooting 3's.
Keegan one of the better backdoor cutters I’ve seen in a while. Cant remember the last time I’ve seen somebody get so many wide open easy jams
Agreed, but right now he's trying to do too much. Probably trying to get more minutes, but he needs to let the game come to him on offense. Still, Iowa is less stagnant with him on the floor on both ends.
I know Maryland isn't all that good this year, but giving up an 18 point turnaround like this is pretty bad.
I think the first 5 minutes of defense is what they like the call.... "Rope a dope".

Ke Murray will be the difference between a truly special season and a disappointing one...pretty wild given the talent we had coming back and Ke Murray being an unknown incoming freshman

I remember his daddy bricking one of his first attempts to near half court.

For being less than fleet of foot, he does a great job of not fouling.
That's all I cared about...
We were so stagnant. I really do think he was fouled twice on offense but he did travel once too. Really appreciated what he gave.

Yep. It's nice he calls timeouts to stop runs.
Keegan's dad said Kris is just as good. I can't wait for both these guys to play good minutes.
The starting lineup which had Cmac was down 10 pts because the sucked on defense and didn't make shots. Conor was 1 for 3 from field.
Connor was okay as a role player should be, not like he was lockdown defender or shooting the lights out. Connor has been outplayed by Garza, Nunge, Keegan, Pmac. JoeT did some nice things but two travels. Fredrick, JoeW, JBo did not show up yet.

Benching all the starters probably sent a bigger message, but I like the direction the team is headed this game.
Joe t is so fast the refs think he’s traveling. Lol. Love joe t but he does need to calm down.
I agree. I'm a big proponent of Joe T getting the lion's share of minutes at point. I think if he was able to play relaxed he'd really elevate this already potent offense.
You could be right, but at the same time you typically put your best guys in the starting lineup so that you don't come out sleepwalking...it's better to punch a team in the mouth from the start and build a lead. I'm not opposed to making that change, it would take some pressure off of JBO and whomever Keegan replaces.
