Not sure how much stock to put into this as it was a discussion that came up over a few libations but I thought I would throw it out here and see if anyone has heard the same.
An acquaintance of mine told me that on the University's strategic long term plan, they will re-locate Kinnick stadium and build a new stadium elsewhere in order to cede the existing real estate to the UIHC. I am not sure how far out the University does its strategic planning, if it is a 10 year plan or 25 year plan. Most organizations that I have been in plan out 5 years because the variability beyond that period is too great, but I am not sure how strategic plans are constructed in public/academic institutions.
