Picked this shirt up at a thrift store. Sweet shirt, obviously depicting the two Rose Bowls, Gator Bowl, and Peach Bowl under Fry. I guess my question is - why those bowls? They were all losses, and was the Gator Bowl that big of a deal?

They won the Peach.
Those were the first three bowls under Hayden.
I suspect it just happens to have two roses, but the second Rose hadn’t happened yet when that shirt was printed. Just a little extra emphasis for the Rose.

Considering the era they just got through I'm sure they were ecstatic to just get there. I've seen that one before, helluva score!
Nice find OP. However, I attended the 1982 Peach Bowl...Iowa beat the Vols 28-22. I was in third grade and had a great time cheering on the Hawks to victory. Johnny Majors was the coach at Tenn...he had several NFL players on that team. Willie Gault, Bill Bates, and Reggie White to name a few.
