Is there any evidence that they do anything? Like for example, pain control? Anything medically beneficial?

Anecdotally, delta 8 THC gummies derived from hemp have a pleasant body buzz similar to an indica strain of the federally illegal weed. Can't speak to CBD as medicine for anything, but anecdotally it does help smooth out harsh delta 9 edible highs.
CBD is good for pain, sleep and anxiety, but works best when combined with THC in a 1:1 ratio

OP if you mean the non CBD/THC hemp gummies I once bought some and found them to be essentially worthless. No idea if there are real benefits, but I did not experience any.
In contrast I swear by my 1:1 cbd/thc gummies and chocolates. I don’t take them every night, but when I do I find I am more relaxed+focused the next day, small aches and pains go away, I sleep better and I have stopped drinking most nights. Anecdotes only I know, but they work well for me.
