He's a Hawk!

That's a big get! A big man with experience was a huge need. Now if Fran can get a shooter from the transfer portal, I'll feel a little better about next season. That team next year is going to be long and athletic, no doubt about that.

<1 block per game last year so not his strength.
His block percentages were 4.2, 3.0, and 2.1 his Fr, So, and Jr years respectively.

Seems to be some potential there, but my guess is that as he became one of the better players and higher minute-getters on ND he wasn't as aggressive with it in order to stay out of foul trouble.

With Iowa's other players and better depth up front, he might have more freedom now to get his block numbers back up.

Looks like he’s played three seasons at ND (2018-19 to present), so I’m guessing he’d have two more seasons left. That’s assuming last season doesn’t count with it being a Covid year.

Iowa, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Utah and Tulsa offered. He has also been hearing heavily from WSU, South Carolina and San Diego State. No mention of Iona. But nice try.
He had a solid list of offers.

6 9” 220 lbs, is not huge, but he will have Mulvey and Ogundele as taller and stronger guys.

Filip appears to be more of tall shooting forward Than a center...

keegan is probably elated, 2 guys to take up 10 fouls in the post (3 p/15 if you count Ogundele)
He's long, and he's bulkier than Keegan or PMac so I see him more as a pick and pop PF or Center. It'll be interesting to see how he ends up fitting in.

I like that the pick and pop is a big part of his game offensively. He should get a ton of open looks with Toussaint/Ulis/Perkins as ballhandlers
I think he specifically said he wanted to develop his perimeter game at his new team.

From the videos I've seen of their games he mostly played in the lane but against big10 comp he'll do better dragging bigger player outside.

Thanks Filip....you'll like Iowa City.

Apparently the talk all year has been FR was going to up transfer at the end of the school year. He let the coaches know so they could recruit over him. If true he's a good kid also.

Rebraca's first game this year against Oral Roberts highlights his offensive game.

Really worth watching if you want an idea what Filip's game is about. Look for #12. Scores in a variety of ways - put back on a missed free throw, puts it on the deck from the wing and scores on a drive, running hook shot, 3. And a beautiful wrap-around pass for an assist. And a blocked shot to seal the win.
