Hilton Meh-gic

Oh yeah, forgot about the wrestling beatdown too in Lames. That’s right, another W.

Dresser won NCAA Coach of the Year in 2019 largely on how close ISU came to beating us at Carver last year. It was one of the more freakier duals that I've seen. Brands and the boys went in there to make a statement this year...29-6. That is now 16 straight by the Hawks, 31/32, and 55/59 of the last meetings. Total and complete dominance.

Magic isn't real.

Oh God, when Garza landed that elbow in the chops in the first half. Not sure who was crying harder, Prohm or the clown radio guys sitting right behind him

I dunno....I was gripping much later in that game with a much bigger lead than I would have been any other place.

Kriener took a decent elbow just below the chin. It was hard to see from the angle, but probably got him in the upper part of his chest. Kriener played right through it though. Props to him.

This years Cyclone hoops team is not nearly as good of a team as in years past.
Maybe Foster will help next season.

Acoustics of Hilton are much different when compared to CHA. Hilton holds in noise quite well. In CHA, noise just kind of leaks out of the top of the building.

Hilton is straight up for seating and a concrete slab so the noise has no where to go but reverberate. If Barta were to keep up the building process by creating a stand alone wrestling and volleyball facility, followed by a new b-ball arena similar to the way kinnick was built near the down town area, you’d have much better attendance by students and the public in general. Carver is like Michigan stadium, not a good facility for creating atmosphere. I can’t believe U of I Athletics didn’t turn down that mock up from the get go.

Hey now, they applauded one of our guys walking off after an injury. Props for that.
