According to Hawkeyesports.com...

The Hawkeyes’ next win at Kinnick Stadium will be their 300th since the stadium opened in 1929. The first game played at Kinnick Stadium was Oct. 5, 1929, a 46-0 Hawkeye win against Monmouth. Iowa will become the seventh Big Ten school to celebrate at least 300 wins in its home stadium.

That's very cool. Also cool to look at the breakdown of Kinnick Stadium victories by coach over the years.

Fry and Ferentz: 180 of the 299 wins so far
Other 14 coaches combined: 119 wins

Dates of the landmark wins:

#1...... ...10/5/1929 Monmouth 46-0 Ingwersen
#100 9/27/1969 Wash. State 61-35 Nagel
#200 9/1/2001 Kent State 51-0 Ferentz
#300 9/18/2021 Kent State ?? Ferentz (Hopefully. Can't imagine an upset, but....)

40 years between #1 and #100
32 years between #100 and #200
20 years between #200 and #300

During the dark days of the 19-year non-winning seasons, Iowa won 37 home games (Burns, Nagel, Lauterbur, Commings) for an average of 1.95 per year. Fry averaged 3.85 and Ferentz has averaged 4.64.

Sorry for the long, nerdy post. But I think it's interesting...and encouraging...to see where my school has been and how it has evolved into something I'm very pleased about and proud of. Nebraska fans may be dreaming the past, but I'm pretty happy with recent history and the foreseeable future.
