You guys have a good (Not Great) team. If you played in the SEC and had Tennessee or Alabama schedule what would your record be?

If you had Tennessee schedule you would be 7 Wins 3 Losses

I you had Alabama schedule you would be 7 Wins 3 Losses

Good that you came over and explained that. Iowa's strength of schedule hasn't been mentioned anywhere prior to this.

Wait two weeks and that will all change. Just check the upcoming Big XII games. Iowa's SOS will continue to take a nosedive.

Strength of schedule makes absolutely no difference here. The Hawks win the Big Championship game they are in the playoffs. It's that simple. Arguing about strength of schedule or whining about playing another teams schedule a complete waste of time. Also jealousy is a smelly sh!t sandwich that you are eating right now.

Do you walk or take your lunch to school?

You are not a real smart person but to answer your question we would be 10-0. Now you can leave.

I think you're asking the wrong question. How would the SEC teams fare in the Big 10, factoring in half of the players outside of Vanderbilt wouldn't meet academic standards?

For instance, let's say Alabama players were faced with a test that included spelling their names correctly and naming the first U.S. President. Could they pass?

I disagree with this statement. If the Hawks finish 13-0, absolutely they're in the playoff. If they stumble against Purdue or Nebraska, they aren't likely to make the playoff even if they win the title game.

& be observant. There is not a single thread on here from our fans talking about winning the National Championship. We are enjoying this ride one game at a time.

You're assuming the B12 playing each other improves the preception of the conference as it relates nationally.

Here's the B12's problem. It doesn't work that way. No matter what, the best two non-con games the B12 played this year were Oklahoma at Tennessee and TCU at Minnesota. Darn near all the rest of the games those 4 teams played were atrocious at best.

Simply because a one-loss big xii team is almost assured to not make the playoffs (no conference championship game means no 'one true champion', you know) does not at all apply in the same fashion to a one-loss conference champion from one of the real Power Conferences. Still way too much football to be played to be making any final determinations at this juncture.

Iowa keeps winning, they are in.

Go Hawks!

Iowa has nothing to fear from the SEC this year regardless of schedule. We actually have a QB unlike those in the SEC.

I would have thought Tennessee would have been much better this year considering last years bowl game. What the heck happened? Seriously why are you so bad?

As for our record in the vaunted sec? No one thought we would be undefeated at this point so undoing anyone thinks we would be undefeated in any other conference including the mighty sec. We most certainly could be though. It isn't like your conference has dominated Iowa. This year the sec looks pretty average just like they did last year. While the sec could win the championship I will be surprised if they do. I think Ohio state is going to mop the floor in the post season and I bet most people on this board think we would have lottery winner type of luck to beat them in the championship game.

Have fun bowling this year you silly vol you. Col stands for volunteer doesn't it? Is that a civil war thing? If so, the north kicked your ass then as well. Have a nice day

I think Texas Tech winning at Arkansas was their best win. Arky is better than Tennessee and Minnesota.

Left a good job in city,
Working for the man every night and day,
And I never lost one minute of sleeping,
Worrying "bout the way things might have been.
Big Ten keeps on turning,
Proud Hawkeyes keep on burning,
And you're trolling, trolling,
Trolling, Trolling
Trolling down the riverrrrr.

Just because you believe it doesn't make it so. Iowa's schedule is better than half or so of the top ten teams.

10-0
Prove me wrong.

Maybe you should ask Toledo. Toledo beat the 2nd place team in the SEC West. Toledo probably figures they could win the SEC West. What about Memphis? Memphis rolled the team that beat Alabama. Memphis probably has more respect for Navy, who destroyed them.

Yup this, every school has a loss (except IA, Clemson, OSU, OSU Cowgirls, and some other non power 5 team).

Iowa would probably fare pretty good with Tennessee's schedule and Bama's schedule (hell this week we get charleston Southern) should be a tough one there.

SEC is not that great, they have what 4 top 25 teams in Playoff rankings??? Big Ten has 6.

Iowa would have already won the national title if they played in the SEC, because it's the SEC.

Duh.
