you can’t always get what you want!
News showing morons walking out of grocery stores and Costcos with carts full mom eggs! What the hell!

I think my bride and I use/eat about a dozen eggs a month…..I mean, come on folks! Unless you own a bakery, restaurant or commercial eatery……what do you do with 6 dozen…or more eggs? Jeeeeeebus Christmas!
(Bad news for Iowegians…..another herd of layers (about 240k) were put down this past week because of “bird flu”…….as long as the weather is changing, “bird flu” will be around to do its damage. Those birds don’t care what your politics are.)

Hardly ever at home.

If we need eggs for a recipe, we'll buy a dozen and eat what's left before they spoil. But we don't go out and buy eggs just to eat eggs.

Eggs are incredible and edible, but dozens a month? Holy crap!
I eat 3 most mornings, plus a protein shake. Comes out to about 300 calories.

So Let's say I eat 15 throughout M-F. My son might eat 2 or 3 throughout the week, and my wife might eat 4 or 5 throughout the week.

That's roughly 20-25 per week.

We go through a dozen every weekend and probably another dozen throughout the week. I’m so tired of expensive food. Who knew having four kids (three boys) and a modest income would be an effective weight loss plan?

I guess high cholesterol and heart disease isn’t a problem for other people.
I am assuming you guys are eating the egg yolks too, right?
I like eggs too, but my cholesterol says “No!”
Eggs don't significantly raise cholesterol unless you're frying them in fat.

They're similar to eating chicken. Better for you than red meat.

I’m with you brother. My grocery bill is ridiculous. Three growing teenagers.

You and my cardiologist would have an inteeesting discussion on that. “One or two week won’t kill you” is what I am told. (He cuts me the same break with my cigar consumption…altho in his world, he’d rather I not consume either.)

1 or 2 per week? That's a bit prudent.

I prob eat more than I should, but I'm not particularly concerned with the eggs cause heart disease.

You might want a second opinion. And your cigar smoking is way worse. Eggs are a "good" cholesterol.

He gave me a script years ago for “1 cocktail, 1 cigar daily, as needed”…..It’s hangin’ from my refrigerator door, in case of an emergency…it’s dated about 18 years ago.
Must be "working". ;)

I go through about two dozen in a month. The family I cook for goes through at least ten or twelve dozen in a month. They all love deviled eggs, so that uses almost two dozen per week. Lately I've been making quiche and frittatas. And we use a few for banana breads, cookies, breading for various things, egg wash on puff pastry, the occasional omelette, etc. Monday I'm making broccoli cheddar tots and I'll probably use three or four, depending on how many want them.
